I've got a number of AT-scale Fureans titans I need to paint, once I can prime them properly. This was some very good inspiration. :)

yes, please! do a video about the headsets. i am using an amazon one also, but find it of very poor quality. i am looking for a better quality one, but can´t find it. great, great video

perhaps look into magnifying lamps. I have two; one for work and one on my hobby desk. They definitely help with detail and my 49 year old eyeballs are grateful for the lack of strain. :)

Awesome video, as usual. I've plucked up the courage to do my Interfector flames like your Fureans ones thanks to this video and they've come out well too. Thanks! 👍

That looks amazing Richard! Such a helpful video with so many different materials and techniques. By the way, I find myself in the same situation with the magnifying headsets. I don't want to lose eyesight, but it's very difficult to judge distances with magnification. A video about headsets would be very welcome.

Thank you for another great tutorial. I'm not into Adeptus Titanicus but I really enjoy watching your tutorials. They have helped with my own brush control. I would really like to hear your take on some magnifier headsets/glasses. I've got cheap ones from green stuff world that do the trick but are rather uncomfortable as you mentioned as well. It would be interesting to know if the more expensive ones can deliver better performance in that regard as well.

Thanks for the content. And thanks for showing the matt varnish. Always had the issue with matt varnish, that it left a shine after applying it with a brush. Only airbrush helped with that. Good to know there are alternatives.

2:50 Thinning the paint more and slowly building up your opacity will reduce speckling; so will upping the pressure (if you want to keep working with thicker layers), but not as much as the thinning. I am pretty sure you know this, but mentioning it just in case (also for other viewers that might read this).

You can use Tamiya Flat White over a black undercoat, followed by Tamiya Flat Yellow. This is really useful when painting hazard lines. The only issue is that Tamiya paints need their own thinner and colour matching with Citadel stuff can be a hassle. But I'd still recommend it as a great way to paint large areas of yellow fast.

Lovely yellow! I’m interested in your video about magnification headsets for sure - as a fellow big head with eye strain. ;)
@Wijkert
@Wijkert 2 года назад
Instead of starting with XV-88 or Yriel Yellow, you can start with Mournfang Brown, that way you cover the black primer faster en the Yriel Yellow will also look a little warmer. I have used a similar scheme recently and chose a little more desaturated brown (Beasty Brown Vallejo Game Color) for my shadow color, to get a little more natural looking shade.

One of your most accessible video's to date! As in, I can see myself doing this not problem, while some other more masterclass stuff could proof to be a little too much out of reach.

1:10 The standard 200ml bottle from Vallejo doesn't have the best nozzle. Putting some airbrush thinner in a dropper is also a great way to be more precise with how much airbrush thinner you use.

Rich, try a Tattoo Artist lamp instead, has a 5in lens and white LEDs. Better than headsets

Awesome tutorial. Thank you for that. One question regarding the armour plates, like the backplate in the video. Do you also paint the undersite of such a plate (the site which gets glued on)? Or would it be invisible, once they are attached to the body? Cheers!

Please, please, please, please upload more free videos! This is so great when painters just show us how they paint stuff for free! So tiresome when everything is hidden behind a Patreon paywall. Many demand payment for their way of painting, when in reality non of us have time or skill to paint up to theirs level. We are just simle and kinda broke hobbyists, who just want to find some free tips on how to paint their models they have already spent lots of money on. Not even mentioning paints, tools, gaming stuff, books, terrain and god knows what else. We do really appreciate what you do for us. Helping us, mortals, to make our hordes of plastic look great on the table. Cheers, Richard!
