As long as you asked: It's impossible to enjoy your narrative any more than I already do. To be honest, given the right producer(s), you could easily be an American staple. You may not want that...at all. Which is fine. My point is that your videos resonate in a way that's impossible to describe, except that's its comforting and enjoyable in equal measure. Keep up the good work...and forget the American (or French...or Aussie) accent. Your voice is spot-on, and your words are a perfect fit for your images. Much gratitude!

I couldn’t agree more. Very well stated. My favorites are the long ones in which Stuart explains very helpful tips/methods, while throwing in some very enjoyable chatter. I find his voice very relaxing & often re-listen to his podcasts when painting. If anything I enjoy my own 🎨 more as I listen to Mr Davies.

And so I watched this video the whole Sunday, start to finish--- bit by bit, went to have breakfast, fed the cats, watched the sea, thinking and contemplating.... and what an inspirational Sunday it was, Stuart! Yes, please talk all the time. Sometimes I make notes, like "It is not about precision, it is about feeling, waking emotion"; " Push the land up into the sky, it gives perspective." I have learned so much from you the past year. Thank you!

Definitely an element of genius in what you do Stuart - I don't quite mean that you were born with a paint brush in your hand and had the immediate ability to swish some paint around a board and create a beautiful scene, but just, whatever genetics you inherited combined with a lifetime of work has resulted in a fantastic eye and a seductively magical painting style - keep on keeping on, we're all winning from it

Hallo Stuart. Thank you sooo much for your wonderfull videos! I am from germany and i love to listen to your peacefull voice and like to hear some storys about your interesting live and the good informations about painting while i am painting alone in my studio. Make your videos as long as you can...i watch them all several times. Because of your videos i paint a lot more landscapes in oil than in acrylics and i enjoy both. You are a wonderfull teacher and your paintings are amazing. This " Foggy Landscape " is fantastic and i love it. Stay save and never give up making your interesting videos for us! Best whishes from Schleswig- Holstein, and sorry for my funny english. I understand you very well, but my writing is sadly very bad.

I always watch the whole painting. But every now and then i take break from it and watch furder next time. Seeing you paint a painting is like a story. Once i hooked in to the story line of the painting i have to see the whole painting until the end. So no matter how long the video is, i'm watching it all the way but with a couple of breaks in between. I don't know how RU-vid picks that up. But i always try and leave a comment. Because i am running addblocker. I don't want to see adds that are not relating to painting when i watch your video's. This painting looks amazing. And the picture is also worth framing. It is awesome. With the orange of the early sunrise. I love it.

Keep talking, just as you do. It helps a lot. I haven’t gone to any school and have just started painting, so little things that you know on an intuitive level may be unknown to me, so talking about those helps. My teacher up to now was Bob Ross, you have one thing in common - you are very positive and encouraging towards me/us, it makes me very happy, thus I want to paint more. I also love listening to your stories.

I like to hear your thought process. I d like you to speak English instead of British😂. It’s so funny that we( across the pond) got our English from you but we pronounce it correctly😂 and Brits don’t. This is fascinating to me. Do you use different dictionaries from Webster or what? We pronounce where WHERE whereas Brits pronounce it WHAR and we say there and you say thar. I’m not critiquing-I’m just fascinated and love to hear your accent. What you do with a paintbrush is AMAZING! Mind changing is perfectionism ! I could have stayed another hour. Anyone would be proud to hang your art on their wall. There is greater happiness in giving than is in receiving.

Stuart, Thank you again for your amazing guidance and videos. I have a question for you. I tried glazing for the first time but I used Liquin, a large amount of it, and the glazing took off some of the layer underneath that was dry when I wiped it away. I was glazing with a semi-opaque white and paynes grey to do fog over dry phthlo blue. Do you think it was the Liquin that did that instead of just using an oil for the glazing? What do you suggest? Thank you! Shane
@StuartDavies
@StuartDavies 4 года назад
I'm not sure if Liquin would do that - I've certainly never experienced this. I am currently uploading a glazing video now and I used Alkyd as the medium - no problems with that either. Perhaps do a test on the painting but use oil instead to see if you get the same result.

Your talking is perfect, your videos have a dual purpose for me. 1. to learn about painting, 2. Please no offense, but you have a "Bob Ross" ASMR quality about how you talk. What I mean is, your videos for me double as a relaxation video. I sometimes use them to get ready to sleep, not in any way do I mean you are boring, not at all, you just have a relaxing voice and a relaxing delivery. I feel you will end up on some unintentional ASMR videos. Please don't change a thing.
