Perfect! Those baby steps in the painting are just what I need. Please continue to build this academic curriculum for all of us. The internet is full of demonstrations and lack of structured teaching. Thank you master.

That taught me a lot of things about analysis and observation, and I don't even use oils. My eyes had not seen the warm brown at the top right or the brightest part below sphere at bottom right until you pointed it out.

I'm not an art student and only self-taught after a simple highschool art class. I can't seem to appreciate certain classic masterpieces beyond just liking their work. Still, I smile watching people draw or paint things in hyper-realism and watching you work and explaining what's happening.

Hey Stephen, thank you so much for your classes. On the top of the Buddhas head there are small spirals, they are almost spheres on top of a sphere. I’m really struggling to draw them in perspective, any advice? Thanks

Would this be a good first step to get used to oil painting? Or should I be doing some earlier steps, I have all the materials but I'm scared shitless to start painting for some reason (took me a while to realice)

Don't let the fear paralyze you. It can seem so much stronger than you but it's just a bully. Push it aside and show the fear you're the boss. I know, I've met it several times before!
