Karen, I was struggling to create a realistic waterfall. Yes, I was the happy user and believer that the more white I used, the more authentic my waterfall would become. Sadly, that philosophy has failed me as you already know. Thank you for sharing this eye opening moment along with your gifts of time and talent!

Karen, this is good technique with underpainting and you achieved a beautiful result. I tried the same approach on a different reference. I practically did it, except for a difficulty to lay the final thick touches with the supersoft pastel. I did not use fixative, as it has a bad smell and I cannot stomach it now.

Hello Karen. Just wondering -- when you use that clear gesso and it is so rough as we can hear, doesn't that eat up your super-soft Terry Ludwig pastels really quickly. I'm cringing at the thought of those expensive pastels getting chewed up. lol I also wanted to tell you that I tried $1 hairspray from the Dollar Tree as a fixitive and it worked GREAT! I love the dollar stores.

Thanks! It does eat up pastels faster than other papers. I like to use harder pastels first then save the Ludwigs for the final layers.

Hi Karen, which level would I need to enroll in to have access to this months animal paintings? Bronze or Silver?

The animal month was November 2019 and is available to both levels. The silver level gives you access to the monthly paint along demo and the Saturday bonus lessons.

Michelle Kleingers All Paint along demos are prerecorded videos so you can watch on your own time. This makes it possible for you to have access to all of the previous paint along videos. The Paint Alongs are done in 4 parts each month each new video released on Wednesdays. In addition to these Paint Alongs there are also weekly video or photo demos.
