Liron, I watched without moving. I loved this so much that I'm going to called my artist daughter, Dena Tollefson, and tell her about this video and about you as an artist to see if she follows you also. I learned so much about looking and painting. Liron, you are a great teacher, so thank you so much for being here.

With your advice i have made a wonderful painting of a vintage motogp bike for a good friend of mine with a passion for racing bikes. I painted his bike, a 1970s sealey 500. I will give it to him as a gift this christmas... thank you for helping me to make this possible! 👍😉❤

Hi Liron. Jim from Madrid (Spain)... A New Yorker living abroad!. Love the way you used the negative painting after actually drawing the subject matter on this video, and avoiding masking fluid which is also very interesting... Some other artists in youtube that I also watch recommended you in their own videos and I decided to see your work and I have to say that... I was surprised on your artistic approach and the great way you communicate to your audience ("us")... You have a NEW subscriber... And cheers from Sunny Spain (though it's been a bit more grayish weather than usual this winter, but we will have sunny days again pretty soon)!!!!

I thought this was a great exercise. These small objects can be really useful to get experience rendering different effects like reflections and shiny surfaces. I don’t do enough small exercises with everyday objects as I should, I know it doesn’t always have to end with a frame worthy painting, but still get hung up on that mindset!

Loved this video, Liron. I hope you might do another shiny thing or two. Excellent, I feel like I understand at least the concept of painting shapes within the item.

This was a very useful lesson! Painting metal to look realistic is one of the harder things to learn. Can you do water and water droplets? Also, fog is something I find hard to render so if you did a video on that, it would be very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos and sharing them with us!

Truly excellent video, Liron - shiny reflections have always seemed to me to be the most difficult technique to master. And, as you say, it's essential to ignore 'the object itself' and instead to see just the collection of abstract shapes that will eventually re-create the complete object. You've clearly acquired 'the knack' and this video should encourage us all to believe that, with just a little care, we can all achieve realistic results. Another artist who excels in the shiny reflection technique is @lorrainewatry_watercolor and her work is featured on her Instagram account and also in the Colour In Your Life series on RU-vid. Thanks for the video - it made much sense and was very helpful. All the best, Brian.

Thank you! Her work is FANTASTIC, wasn't familiar with her 😊🙏🏼 Shiny surfaces may seem difficult, but after some practice you may realize they are easier, as they provide a lot of leeway when it comes to small mistakes and inaccuracies (:

This was magical as it came to life. Very interesting and as always, well done and packed with great tips. Love your focus on painting (or drawing) what we see in the reference, and not what we ‘know’ should be there. I am very new to watercolour (and drawing) and I was spellbound by your wash intensity. Each time you return to the paper with the same brush, from the same place on your pallet, you had darker or lighter values in your brush. I know it’s to do with water... It’s probably way too basic, and would bore the rest of your pupils, but I have no idea how you achieve that and was wondering if you have any lessons where you demonstrate this basic part of watercolour.

I love this! Your approach to this painting was very methodical and understandable. It is going to help me paint water and also glass. Do you ever use water-soluble graphite? I was just curious what your thoughts on it were and how it compared to varying grey washes of watercolor.

Lirón, I enjoy so much your videos. I learn a lot and help me to make my mind about my personal style. I have a question for you, “which one is the purpose of using de neutral tint I do not think it works as color. When is it recomendable to use it?” Thanks I will appreciate your opinion about it...

Liron, terrific. Question. Could you have waited until the 'circle' had throughly dried and then do the back ground inside and outside the circle at the same time? Is that an option? I like how you left the background inside for later, I simply wondered if inside and out could be done at once if it was dry. Just curious. Thanks again.
