wow Don! I really liked the video and I agree with you on practically everything ... except glazing ... it's so fun and not boring at all ... almost like plastering a gunpla! 😤🤣🤣 Seriously, I think that to do what you do, as you do, you must first have clear ideas about the light and the effect it has on the colors ... You get these results even without glazing because you know exactly what shade of color takes on even the smallest part and in the video you can see that you use different color tones on microscopic surfaces to build volume 👏🏻 I hope the mosquito didn't bite you 😉 Congratulations on your clarity, your skill and your sympathy 🙌🏻🤣
Oh man, you are right... I did not realize, it takes a bit of knowledge on how lights falls on different shapes and surfaces, thus I was able to paint the mini like so. I will try to explain better next time. Glazing is very nice, I just feel it takes so long sometimes, and I feel less productive. However, my next video, will have glazing. Thanks as always for the support bro! 💙🎨🎨🎨
My pleasure Bro! You are an artist Don and you can see it by the confidence with which you use colors ... A suggestion I give to myself is to observe how colors behave in reality, even before learning the techniques! I have seen blue and purple used to paint a miniature face and it makes perfect sense ... I had never noticed it but in reality it is also so! 😱 P.s. I really think glazing is boring 🤣
@@nicolaargento3407 Been an artist since I was a kid bro, most of the time I take it for granted. Yes, natural skin shadow is blue or purple even in watercolor portrait painting. Yes, glazing is boring. 😅🤣😂
Don. Great vid as always. Some of the techniques that I have yet to master are glazing, not thin enough, dry brushing, used wrong kind of brush, stippling, welp there goes another brush, and a whole lot of advance techniques. But as always, learning just by watching is not enough. You learn better by practice and making mistakes. Thank God we have safe and affordable paint strippers now. LOL Anyway, keep up the good work
I don't like glazes to build value of color, I prefer wet blending with retarder. I like more Inks than glazes to change color or fluo paints to tint because its easier to achieve effect. I like Your videos because they are positive and makes my painting happier.
Thank you! I like what you like bro! Fluo paints though, they seem to dry shiny right? I always have to put matte varnish on top. Does fluo colors really dry shiny? Building values of colors with glazes is so time consuming. I am personlly not after Golden Demon level painting bro. A finished painted mini makes me happier, than spending too much time on just one mini. Glad you like the videos! Hope to see you around. ☺️🎨🎨🎨
@@DonSuratos I always use matte varnish but sometimes add glosy or satin varnish on point of light to raise effect for example the brightest points on nmm or gems
