vallejo metal colour are super nice alternatives to the liquid gold if you want to stick with acrylics and are arguably the best acrylic metals on the market.

Great video! I just got back into tabletops and am getting up to speed with the conversion to majority of models being plastic. Painting plastic is so much different from pewter! One observation from a newbie to your channel, it would be so nice to have a list of the paints used for the video added to the description.

Just stumbled upon your channel - immediately hooked. Love you style of honest, open tutorials and kind of laid back attitude. I'm enjoying that very much, looking forward to listen through as much as I can on my daily commute to work in the upcoming days. Great to hear that you're trying to keep that clips coming. I know it takes a lot of work and dedication... myself I'm in the middle of few month long break from painting. i really like your technique for black , and your red is pretty sweet as well . i'm not sure about the gold , it might be too shiny . may be different in person .

I have had the same experience with the vallejo metal colors: LOVE the silvers/steels but so disappointed with the copper/gold etc

So, as a head's up from someone who also uses the Vallejo Liquid Gold paints; whatever you do, *do not* use water with these paints; it will rust the very fine metal flakes in the paint pretty much immediately, hence why its an alcohol based paint. Also, I wouldn't use a brush that was used with the Liquid Gold for anything else; its almost guaranteed that there's still some metal flakes left in the bristles and the introduction of water will cause them to rust. That being said, I absolutely love these paints (even if they are more work intensive) because of the finish they give; I haven't come across anything else that isn't lacquer based that looks as good as these paints.

Those Vallejo alcohol metals are a pain in the butt to work with, but the results are spectacular. I like the Vallejo Metal Color (acrylic) series a lot but the gold in that line is greenish and the copper is a little on the cool spectrum as well.

Erm, can you have a drought of something you're addicted to...? Just kidding. I feel your pain, I haven't felt the urge to paint or model in ages. In fact, the last few times I have I had to really push myself, and didn't really enjoy it at all. I hope we both get the mojo back soon!
