I need help painting my kitchen cabinets!! I used the degreaser to clean. Used a green scrubby to scrub. Wiped them off after they dried. Painted a drawer front with your oval brush. Rolled it with your roller. IT LOOKS LIKE $...! There are a LOT of BUMPS and BRUSH STROKES in it. You make it look so easy but it is NOT! I sanded the bumps and brush strokes out of it and tried it again. Still looks like $...! What can I do to make the paint smooth?????
There are additives you can mix with certain paints that help it flow, aka self-level. Have a discussion with your paint supplier to see if they have a compatible additive or thinner to help it level out. Using these things might require an additional coat but it actually saves time because you spend less time fussing with the texture.
I have all my supplies to start my bathroom cabinet, but Im a little confused about the true applicator, the instructions on the package says to keep it damp, but this video goes to mute, so I don't hear her saying if it is damp or not!! Can you confirm please?
I have cabinets that are already painted and have a shiny shellac on them from the previous owners. Would I still be able to use this paint without sanding?

She was distressing soon after using the gel stain. They cut off the part where she was saying that if you wait until it's dry, you would find it difficult to get the paint off even with sandpaper.
@Heirloom Traditions Paint Can you use this on kitchen cabinets that have previously been painted? I really don't want to strip them down, but the paint that's on them isn't wearing well.
My cabinets are so old and i have tried to get the smoke and mildew off so what do i do . I used the degreaser should I just try the degreaser again and just continue to paint them?
I have been trying to get an answer to my question on this paint. Can I use this to paint my bathtub surround? If so how and what all do I need to do. Also, I only use the shower part of this surround/tub maybe twice a year. I am a tub person. Any help will be appreciated!
Her instructions are confusing to a beginners To answer your question No. They’re two separate products. First use TSP, then rinse. Then use deglosser. It softens the old paint. IMO, you’d be better off with plain soap and water and a light sanding with 320 sand paper.
It sounds as if the paint had started to dry before you stippled. If the undercoats weren't completely dry, applying another coat on top would've re-wet the paint. Then if the top coat had started to dry a bit stippling with the True Applicator could've pulled up the semi-dried paint. Try stippling with a True Applicator that's been spritzed with a water bottle and do small sections at a time - like a door front. Paint then stipple, go to the next small section and repeat. Before going to your next coat of paint make sure the first is completely dry so it has time to bond with the surface. It could also have been caused by the project still having dirt and oils on the surface. You have to clean very well before painting. I hope this helps!
Hello Paula , I have purchased three colors all in one . I used the leather paint and that worked great, But I have a question regarding the Cabinets I bought Cashmere for my bathroom vanity and what i noticed is if my nail hits it nicks right away. I didn't weather it I just wanted a solid. Then I bought a corbel for my kitchen tile and seem to have the same issue. What am I doing wrong. Should their be a sealer?
The reason this is happening is because the paint she is promoting is not quality paint she promotes it like it has some magical quality to it but its just everyday paint people re wasting their money on this product
@@dapperdan9144 I prepared my cabinet as the directions instructed applied the paint as directed. The paint was not self leveling the paint did not go on smooth the sponge roller left a stipple texture which looked like crap. So yes I did in fact use the paint and would not recommend it you could get a better results with a quality paint from Home Depot for half the cost.
@@chrissantee8489 Your not supposed to use a roller. You are supposed to put it on and stipple it with the applicator. I tried both ways, only the way is shown here works. I do think the other paint works as well with the liquid sandpaper so long as it's a super high-quality one and Lowe's or Home Depot paint I can use a sprayer to put it on, which is very smooth. Not sure if that's possible with heirloom traditions. Super curious if that works. There are lots of options out there, so I am glad you shared your experience.

During the 30 day cure time we recommend warm water and a mild dish soap; after that you can continue using whatever your normally use though nothing too harsh.
I will have to try stippling with colliseum on my pantry uppers. The blocking primer helped cut my coats in half over honey oak, but it still took 4 coats and alot of paint. : / Can't wait til my shipment comes in to try it out!
With all the people giving great reviews I’m starting to think the people that give negative reviews are painting cabinets professionally and are afraid of losing business.
