Hi Maria. I thought I'd share a few tips with you. Since watercolor when wet appears very dark but when dry is extremely light, I use chalk pastels to intensify color and they pair wonderfully with watercolor. Tip #2- I use spray "Workable Fixative" on my watercolor artwork first if I'm going to be applying a painted sealer. Doing this prevents the watercolor from reactivation and then lifting off the paper and mixing with other colors that could result in a muddy color. Tip #3- I tried using a spray adhesive to apply the toilet paper to the water color paper after I taped off first. A very light spray is all that's needed. Tip #4- I use a hair dryer to remove my tape without any damage to my paper. I hope you find these tips helpful and thank you for sharing your wonderful and amazing creations with us. 💚💛💚💛💚

This reminds me of using white tissue paper with paint. I think I would feel safer using that instead of toilet paper, which falls apart really easily, and is not archival. I love this method, definitely try it. Thank you Maria.

I made one like this straight on a canvas with gift wrap paper and it came out very nice, I will try this one with toilet paper crossing over. TFS....fantastico :)

I have a question after doing my first attempt. i had difficulties with the tolite paper ripping even while using it softly. Do you let the tolite paper dry before starting to use watercolors for the backround thus adding more water as you apply the color? thank you

Hello! This is a really cool technique! I got the varnish and the pens - and I put 2 coats over a watercolor abstract I had painted, but I noticed this type of pen just washes away. On your painting did you put something over the final painting even over the gloss varnish to keep it from smudging? Like a spray finish?? I like the technique but maybe with a fine liner oil based marker so it won’t wash off…..

Deal Maria, this is my opportunity to tell you that the „ Paul Rubens metallic watercolours " are really really exzeptionell wonderfull. If it's possible for you, it would be an enrichment.to try them out ! I ordered them from „Wish“, 10 € cheaper than Amazon, but of course with waiting time
