Mr. Depresso Expresso himself! The brush pressure tip was a hugely important one to mention along with how much paint is on the brush. Very good video!
So far I really like the way you created your gold. Also I found your use of the oil washes to be very interesting. Like you pointed out most people would apply gloss then oil wash to protect the paint. But the way you did almost stained the metallic gold giving it and almost worn look without it being grimy. Yes Dante could have his armor polished to a mirror finish, but he's in the midst of battle and this given his pose this worn look is fantastic! Great job on the model and video!
Thanks for the feedback! I was genuinely nervous about the gold because after I did put down the yellow with the airbrush I felt it looked off. The oil wash completely changed it for me. The ink washes really are what made me love doing this paint job and the overall look of the Golden armor.
this channel is awesome. I learn something every time I come to a video. And I re-watch these over and over. Placing of highlights and brush control and color theory is all applied in the video. Those subjects aren't covered explicitly they are just inferred through the visuals and the video script. Love these. I hope to see you do a big model like the Eidolon of mathlan or the Leviadon, ETC.
Thank you so much man! I really appreciate you watching, rewatching and using the videos as instructional tools. A large model would be a lot of fun to do...I just need to find the time in between my current projects haha
Thank you and I appreciate the feedback! Thankfully I don't have much stuff to say worth listening too 🤣 I've been working on the audio and maybe this video was one step forward and two steps back 🤷♂️
