So Beautiful! I won a set of acrylic paints at a craft retreat, and I just purchased some canvases and brushes. I asked my hubby if he'd want to do a home version of a paint and sip if we could find a tutorial. I love this so much-if he doesn't want to do this one, I'll definitely be doing it myself! Thank you, Jasmine, you are an excellent teacher!
That’s so exciting about your win and prize!! Congrats 👏🏼 Glad you’re also pumped to make art!! No matter which tutorial you choose to do you’ll do great- half the battle is a great attitude and energy and I can tell you have it! Enjoy the tutorial with your hubby, what a great date night idea 💡🙏❤️
@@feelingnifty We did it! My hubby and I had a little paint and sip at our dining room table today. They both came out great, but of course, not as beautiful as yours. But pretty darn good for beginners! Thanks again!
Jasmine, can you olease do more tutorials. My biggest struggle with other artists is they dont do the step by step with voice instruction. That's why I love yours. I would be more than happy to become a paid member or patreon.
Thank you so much for your feedback Nancy! As an instructor I often don’t know which type of tutorial is better, but it’s comments like yours that help guide mommy content. I will be doing a new one, which is very summery and inspired by my son! Stay tuned, let’s just say there’s a beach, an umbrella and an incredible sunset 🏖️🌅🎨 Thabks again for your comment Nancy!!
Thank you Jasmine. So detailed and literally step by step; your tone is calm, confident and moving at a pace suitable for beginners like me. You're a great teacher; not everyone who knows their stuff can teach . Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and skill freely.
Thank you so much for your kind words Michele☺️🙏It’s an absolute pleasure to teach painting and it’s so nice to know its helping beginners feel confident in their painting and skills.
What an amazing job you do when creating these videos!!! Thank you so much. I am not an artist, merely a crafter, but you have empowered me to create beautiful art work. Thank you very much.
That’s so good that you have found that joy, it really is a blessing to have them. So glad you’re discovering painting and making art. Keep going and thank you for your kind words too ❤️🙏🎨
Hi I just wanted to say thank you for not only sharing a beautiful painting but also what a beautiful story behind it. You and your mother have been given special names not to mention so meaningful and inspiring! Also the way you walk through your tutorial is so perfect in every way so thank you for that also. Take care
Thank you for your kind words Monica 🥰 it was such a special painting to make and then making this video tutorial was so nice because I got to share the painting process so other can recreate it and also share the story behind it.
I love it. Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement. This is beautiful. I am going to try to use the methods to paint a white bucket to use with solar pump to create bird bath for my hummingbirds. The lavender flowers will be so welcoming in my garden. ❤❤❤
I am inspired. Love the 3-D effect. Nice to see something that I can tackle without being intimidated. I, especially, appreciate your sharing ways to "correct" by re-touching with purple and dark purple, if highlights with the light hue are excessive. Thank you.
Hi Jasmine! Following your tutorial has given me the opportunity to develop my artistic side that I envied others having. I didn't think I could ever do this and actually get family and friends to ask me for simple pieces. WOW!!! ME???? Thank you so much for keeping this simple for a fella like me. Also, my very creative aunt got on to me for not signing my work!! I was like Really??? LOL
That makes me so happy to hear that! Awesome job 👏🏼🎉 What a priceless feeling to realize you have it in you all along. Thanks for sharing that and keep painting more of your masterpieces!🎨🖌
I'm new at painting and I Love this tutorial you explain everything that your doing so well and you go at a normal pace unlike others that I've watched where they go to fast and you can't keep up with what they are doing. Thank you for sharing this technique, You're a great teacher, please do more videos like this one. I'm looking forward to giving this painting a try.
Thank you for this video tutorial! Love painting w acrylics but using a brush for stems & flowers (free hand is not easy for me) but going to try this way as have those wooden things & Q-tips and using those you created a beautiful painting for your mom & so sweet of you (only a month ago my mother passed) & miss her so much (painted big rainbows) for her as had macular degeneration & wanted her to see pretty colors 💕!
Hope you enjoy painting the lavender, and thank you for your kind words. I’m so sorry to hear about your mom, that’s very painful to lose someone. Painting can be a healing activity, glad to hear you painted rainbows for her❤️🙏🌈
I was looking for a project that uses these cors. I also love lavender. Thank you for sharing. I am going to make several little squares to make a piece of art for my bedroom!
This is the first time I've watched any of your videos. Your tutorial skills are excellent. You state things perfectly and don't add in anything that is unnecessary. Loved this painting and I'll be trying it very soon. By the way, I'm 71 and very, very new at anything like this.
Your videos are wonderful and super easy to understand. I love lavender and I'm a complete beginner at painting and I'm reaaaaaly looking forward to this 😊
Thank you ☺️ Yes, I had a purple paint marker and added some extra dots over the lavender after the video was done. The same can be done with some purple paint and a small round brush or detailing brush also.
Hello Jasmine, Just watched your tutorial and can't wait to do your lavender painting! You ate a wonderful instructor! A very happy new year to you and your family, Jasmine!
I have been searching for months for some inspiration for a large piece of art for my home. The frame is beautiful, but contains an out or date print... and I decided I was going to paint my own painting. This technique has totally inspired me!!🤓 To match my decor, I'm going to try vertical color blocking in navy and terra cotta, then do the flowers in tones of cream (with green stems of course. I'm going to try it first on a piece of poster board to see if the piece actually looks like what I imagined in my head. Thank you so much for such a wonderful video! New subcriber!
That sounds like a lovely idea , and so glad this tutorial help bring some inspiration to your project too ☺️ Would love to know how it goes. Goodluck and enjoy painting it Patti!
Thanks so much for all the details you shared in this video !! I tried it yesterday and turned out so well !! Loved your ideas for making rough textured background. I have seen other videos but best explanation and tips so far for beginners like me :) please keep painting and keep posting.
Great question! I would wait until the first purple is mostly dried so that you still get the effect of multiple versions of purple in the final flower. Sometimes when paint is not dried enough both the purples can mix too much and you don’t get the same effect. Hope that helps and enjoy painting to! 💜🌸🙂
Hi Donna, Great question! I liked the look that’s the only reason really. I found the darkest color kind of got lost when keeping it in the background, so having it as the second color just gave a different look. But with that said you can most definitely start with the darkest and work your way up, that would look very nice also. Hope that helps! Cheers, Jasmine
Good eye!! I have a habit of adding some extra detail once the the painting is done- hard for me to stop sometimes-lol. What I did here was: I took a dark purple paint pen and added tiny dots of dark purple sparingly over the lavender flowers. Hope that helps :)
Funny I thought the exact same thing before I tried this method!! If you’re using regular consistency acrylics they’ll be too thick to liquify the salt. A case where it might liquify is if you use a super thin (watercolor-like) paint consistency and very fine grain salt. Great question btw 🙌🏼
Hi Barb, it’s called a palette paper pad, like this one www.amazon.com/Strathmore-365-9-Palette-Bound-Sheets/dp/B00CPD0O1U/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2NDPBRNNWG6YV&keywords=palette+paper+pad&qid=1690033430&sprefix=pallette+paper%2Caps%2C98&sr=8-3
Hi Heather, I've never witnessed the salt melting personally, but maybe the paints are really thin and liquid perhaps? If so, you can try using heavier bodied acrylic paints (the ones in tubes should work). Also you can speed up drying with a hair dryer. Hope that helps!
