This is a huge, positive change to these types of videos by GW. They use few colors, don't go for perfection, and applaud progress and not presentation. We need more official tutorials like this to encourage new people to get into the hobby! Well done, Games Workshop!
"Paint Your Entire Necrons Combat Patrol"... for a moment I thought the title was a joke for a single video... but it is quite serious! And only 11 paints to do it. Well done!
I don’t usually care about the typical way of painting presented by GW, but this is genuinely nicely done. I applaud this. It’s amazing for the newcomers who bought large sets like these.
For how basic these paint scheme's are, they come out looking 10/10. And super quick to do with out too much stress. Probably the best and most effective tutorial for beginners I've seen for Necrons yet!
this would be a brilliant series to do for newcomers for the entire wh40k roster - as little paints as possible, in easily digestible steps - very nice
As someone who bought this combat patrol as a first stage to getting into warhammer and being quite intimidated by the painting..... this was a fantastic video. Not too many steps, simple techniques. Thank you!
I'm looking forward to buying this set to get started with WH40K at long last, and this video came as a true blessing! I'm so excited to actually buy the box and begin assembling and painting my necrons!
I'm saving up to buy my first combat patrol and I'm going for Necrons! This video has made me even more excited to get them! I'll be watching this again when it's time to paint. Great video!
Like this, really simple way. Especially the shade to the armour for speed of painting, why didn’t I think of that! Perfect timing too as just got my partners son the CP for Christmas
I really would like to have a video for the necrons dinasties seen on warhammer community(for example the "emerald" ones, the pale ones etc)it would be great for someone who wants to do them with the actual colours (old tutorials doesn't match anymore)
And I just finished painting mine 😂 Had to happen I guess. Great video as always, love to see this tutorials. Hope to see one for Death Guard when time comes 😅.
We are looking in to experimenting with new forms of content alongside our Battle-ready videos, so yes we may do longer and more complex painting videos in the future.
So Reikland Fleshshade + Leadbelcher is a new trick i never knew i need until now. But i wonder if other colored shade will work with Leadbelcher/Retributor Armor/Runelord Brass
Would love to see the "spraypaint it in leadbelcher, add nuln oil all over it and use black and tesseract glow for the weapons." As a official painting tutorial.
This is an interesting guide, but it is kind of weird that the techniques and paints used are quite different from the "Start Painting Necrons with these colors" box produced during 9th edition.
SO when you base coated the entire army in lead belcher spray can. it indeed had Hydrophobic tendenices which made applying any contrast colors difficult. Why wasnt a varnish layer recommended?? I refer to time stamp 2:30
Hello, and thank you for this great vidéo. I have one question : some people say you have to prime the figs first with black spray before using leadbelcher one... is it true ? or u can spray it directly ? Thx for your time :)
You can spray directly with Leadbelcher spray paint. It works as a primer as well. Or if you have black spray you can use that and do a heavy drybrush of Leadbelcher over it.
Some people might choose to do it for a specific effect, but you certainly don't have to. Got a load of straight Leadbelcher undercoated Skittarii on our shelf right now.
