It's good to see all these new techniques when I started tattooing about 30 years ago there was no info on techniques, we would draw flash with what we could get our hands on china pencils or bingo pencils as they were called then for shading and watercolour paint for colour we would outline them with home made felt tip dip pens made with craft felt and pelikan ink until we got speedball pens but everything worked good, I remember as a kid the tattoo guy in our town would send us to the local stationery shop with a list and then he would teach us a new drawing trick haha great times.
i have an indian tattoo and I got so much shit for it when I posted a pic on tumblr. people get so angry about the stupidest things! love the videos, keep them coming!
Keep it coming bro u give great tips and easy to understand lessons... You got me drawing again and I'm really getting into old-school forget the haters times change you gotta take advantage of the tools we have now the escence is there and you need artistry
Please do more of these, I remember the story of sailor jerry and the purple dragon so was nice to hear you story telling. Enjoy watching you do the copic flash and its give me a kick up the arse to draw more flash so thanks for that dude, and have a great day
There are definitely a variety of particulars like that to take into consideration. That is a nice point to bring up. I provide the ideas above as normal inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you convey up the place an important thing can be working in trustworthy good faith. I don?t know if finest practices have emerged round issues like that, but I am certain that your job is clearly identified as a good game. Each boys and girls really feel the influence of only a second’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.
For those of you that want a quality liner get a prismacolor lining marker set, it comes with different size variations and a brush tip. just throwing that out there!
A few people have said this and I agree to the extent that...it's how it was always done so its the most authentic way of doing it but I made this channel to help people who aren't that experienced or who are having a hard time so copics are easier to learn with then they can start worrying about authenticity once they have some experience. I do like copics though they are really nice to use
Most Indians ,or native Americans I guess is what you mean, have feathers in in their hair from slash I've seen but I really like this and you are an inspiration thanks a bunch
so glad i found these videos, been thinking about buying some copics for when im out and about! i use watercolour normally. these look good man! ill definitely invest! cheers
Aw thank you! I don't think I will ever take on another apprentice but if you need any help just send me a message or comment on here and I will be happy to help :)
I gave up tattooing after 30 years recently because of a dislike of 'modern' tattooing styles and attitudes. Thanks for flying the flag of old school tattooing mate.
this is awesome, I never thought about using markers!? :/ I'm just learning and watercolor has never been one of my strengths so it's extremely difficult.
Can I run the same colorless blender over multiple colors without them bleeding out? Should I use different colorless blenders for light and dark colors?
Hey bud this is awesome stuff! Old school flash seems shrouded in mystery, this is the first tutorial I've seen that actually helps. I'm curious, how many shades of grey are you using? Black, then two other shades? is that right?
Hi your video is amazing and you are popular also in Italy! So one question and sorry for my english: i begin to use copic markers and i see the paper that you suggest but in the image on amazon there is the 250 gsm 120 lbs and in the description i read 300 gsm. What's the right paper? I have some trouble to shade the color maybe is the wrong paper? Thank u so much!
Curious about the blender marker you're using when you're applying the color, does this come with most Copic color sets? Is it just a colorless blender brush tip? Love the effect.
HI !!! im mexican and i want to know if u can do How To Paint Old School Tattoo Flash Pin-Up Designs Tutorial from the beginning please??? and some more desgins about old school please I'd appreciate
Any suggestions for laying out a flash sheet? I have the drawing and painting skill I just have a hell of a time getting things centered or proportional to each other if there's more than one image on the page.
Thanks for taking the time to put up these videos and teaching some of your talents, that I know, took years to develop. I am interested in why would you think Indian people would get offended by the "Indian" picture or having their faces tattooed on someone?
If you were to use water colour paint what is the best brand to use? I just started learning the basics with watercolour, I'm using a brand called Koi. It seems alright, but every video I've seen of someone using water colour it's out of a small square shaped glass with a drip nozzle. I've search the Internet far and wide and could not find anything. Any suggestions?
As a person that uses art markers, I just want to point out a mistake in what you are doing. You NEVER want to user copic markers on watercolour paper because the paper is meant for watercolours and therefore absorbs the ink more from the marker, which causes the marker to lose more ink than you mean to. Different paper you can use are; Multi media, drawing paper (68 lbs compressed or less), or even printer paper (with another paper underneath if you don't want bleeding). But to reiterate: NEVER USE WATERCOLOUR PAPER WITH ART MARKERS
As a person who uses mostly Copics to colour my work, I use exclusively watercolour paper because it takes it super well and allows for amazing blending.
As a person who uses the comment section I just want to point out a mistake you’re MAKING. You never want to act like a judgemental cheap skate know it all asshole. Different places you can act like this are in MMO chat, 4Chan or Facebook. But to reiterate : YOU ARE AN ENTITLED SELF IMPORTANT KNOB GARGLING SHIT STAIN.
