Just because hers aren’t gross chewed up short knobs doesn’t mean hers aren’t short. Technically hers qualify as short regardless

Cristine from Nailogical suggests a latex protectant on the skin under the nail. Go right over the tip, onto the skin. Peel the latex and mess away right at the end. Edit: just saw how old this comment is.

My nails are so short that the skin is still on the end of the nails so I can't wrap the tip and it's hard to paint any tips

Use a craft brush and dip it in nail polish remover. Rub it over the place with the nail polish where you dont want it, and boom, your nails will look perfect, this help A LOT with painting your non dominant hand. This wont help with wrapping the tip, but it will help with any nails. I have very short nails and it helps a lot.

I know this is a really old video but I just wanna let you know how helpful this was for me! I have really short nails because I have a bad habit of biting them, and I can't have long ones because I play ukulele. Your nails are such a good length, and they look really nice but also manageable and convenient!

I have no nails--psoriatic arthritis destroys them. So, I have no budget to have a mani in 2022. So me, in my infinite wisdom, decided, "OK, girl, you're 60yo, you're old enough to master this..." So, I did a semi passable job after viewing your video. Got the top coat on and BAM! My overactive bladder hit. I guess I get to follow my practice run with another attempt!! Thank you!! Sorry, I had to laugh at myself. Your video gave me the encouragement to attempt it myself.

Wow! This is my length right now and I actually prefer them this way. I do a lot with my hands so it's just not convenient to have them any longer but I love having pretty nails and each weekend I love changing up the color and sometimes do nail art, etc. I want to attempt something red for the holidays, we shall see how they come out.... eeek!!! Thanks for the tips. I didn't know until you mention it that the base coat was to prevent staining. Thank you. Every day is a day for learning. I also will try the painting at the tip to keep the polish from chipping. 🙏

Yes, before I knew that my nails used to get stained yellow from polish wear all the time. But ever since base coat it doesn’t happen at all, plus makes nail polish last longer. Same I paint the tips always in all layers. Just make sure all is dried between each coat. 💕

I get the best results when capping the nails only with base coat and top coat (not the polish). Also use two (or 3) THIN layers of polish to minimize chipping.

your nails look so beautiful and strong! also a tip that i have for doing a topcoat, is to wait about a minute for the color to dry, because this allows the polish underneath to move and look better.

Thank you very much for this helpful video! Just a little piece of advice from a radio host to a vloger: when you speak, try to finish your sentences going down with your voice. This signals when a content is about to end and makes you sound more certain about what you are saying. Ending always with a high note leaves people on a cliffhanger when you don't want them to.
