I admit to being hesitant about non-green greenskins, but I can't deny that it ended up looking very nice. Bloo turned out great, and I think the less bloody colors for the tongue really did make a difference. I do kinda want someone to kit-bash a Space Marine helmet into that big, open mouth though!
Please do share more of the colorful ork project. Would be so excellent to see more of this ork-tacular content. Thanks for all that you do for this community.
Looks great & it would make sense that some planets might shift the colors of the orks, squigs & gretchen but once they get to space or another planet the colors might shift to a standard familiar color scheme.
I'm sort of traditional, thinking Orks and Goblins should be green, but this video changed my mind. Your colors look really good, and I might actually try to paint myself an orange Ork (maybe a Shaman to begin with?)Thanks for making these great videos where you both show and tell what you do. I get lots of tips on how to do things from watching your channel.
Love your use of colour. It's second to none. Talking of blues, Im doing some night lords but I want them midnight blue, like the darkest darkest blue possible. Whats the darkest blue made and who does it in your opinion. I know you can't darken blue with black cos it turns it grey. Cheers for the vid. Oh yeah happy turkey day lol.
Hmmmm, well the darkest contrast paint blue that I know of is Leviadon Blue, which I would just layer twice if you were wanting it to be so dark it's almost black. Otherwise, I don't actually use standard Layers or Base colors that often so I'm not sure what the darkest blue would be there.
Man, this came out really nicely! I only just got my contrast paints in recentl, but I've been feeling them out and enjoying them quite a bit so far. Was about to get Ripper Jackson painted up in a single day which was a lot of fun. Do you have tips for using apothecary white though? I've had trouble getting it to actually feel like its covering anything and painting it white.
Apothecary White is a tricky one because it's consistency is different than some of the other colors in the Contrast Paint line in my experience. And because of how transparent it is and I will admit sometimes I have a hard time telling where I've used it and where I haven't but the blue tint in the recesses of the model are a good indicator. It also requires the most shaking of any of the Contrast Paints so that could be effecting your coverage issues.
@@HobbyNight Ahhh okay, so its acting more like a glaze and its base coat is probably more important to it than it is for the the other contrast paints. Appreciate the trick!
Exactly! I use it as a glaze, but I do find that a single coating over top Grey Seer looks pretty good if you are wanting a white marble color tone. I used Apothacary White a lot on the Great White Squig that Mozrog is riding. That video might give you further insight too! I think I linked it at the end of this video but if not here you go: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2PgsA_JSPf0.html
Haha that's also a good name too, maybe if I paint another blue squig that will be his name and then when they run together they can be Lukkee & Bloo together. XD
