Dark souls 3 was the one that got me into the series, still one of my favorite games ever

My first FromSoft game was also Dark Souls 2! Still love it to this day, there's just something about its atmosphere that makes it quite magical I think.

My roommate actually bought me ds3 for my birthday in my freshman year of college, and it was the first fromsoft game I ever played. Still have so many fond memories of him showing me all the secrets and hidden items 😊

My first introduction to the souls series was in high school with Dark Souls 3, I didn't even know what the souls series was, I just really liked the aesthetic of the knight class and thought It'd be cool to play as a knight. It just so happened that my friend also wanted to play Dark Souls 3 and so we started our journey together to realize just how difficult and rewarding these great souls games are.

My first one was Bloodborne. The art style just completely spoke to me, and I fell in love with the souls gameplay while playing it.

I've been here since the original Demon's Souls released in 2009. I remember reading some articles about it over the summer; it had gained a lot of steam among importers because the international version was in English. And everything about its challenge, gameplay, and assorted systems sounded intriguing, though the thing that got my attention the most was that it was described as being inspired by Oblivion, BUT it would have unique attack animations for all of its weapons. I watched some footage, most of which involved traversing the bridge with the red wyvern in world 1-2 and fighting the Tower Knight, and I was VERY impressed by what it showed. So when I finally got it for myself that Christmas, I fell in love with the gameplay instantly, and over time, became intrigued with its then very unique way of storytelling. Been a fan of Soulsborne ever since.

I got a PS4 along with Bloodborne when I was 14. I gave up quite quickly and didn't come back to it for a couple years, but giving it another try I quickly fell in love with the world fromsoft creates. The dark souls games followed shortly after and I've played every Soulsborne game since.

Bloodborn was my first SoulsBorn game. I was 15 so it was my fist mature game. I fell in love whit the combat, World-building and the lore. now i have 2000+ hovers in the series. thank you for the video, i am new to painting and wondering how i wud paint the hollows myself. this will help me a great deal!

Dark Souls 3 got me into the series. I needed a new game to play and my friend was huge fan so had me play it every time I visited his place. After awhile I just had to break down and buy it for myself and I’ve been hooked ever since

Ds1R was the game that brought me in, truly a masterpiece of design.

Bloodborne got me into fromsoft games. Everything about the lore and aesthetic was similar to the D&D campaigns I run and I drew so much inspo from it that I just had to play it and now Im hooked

My first game was dark souls one, i was playing it around the time it came out. I gave up at bed of chaos and played skyrim instead. However, after beating the main questline for skyrim i went back to dark souls and have been even more in love with them. I enjoy the challenge the game brings, it is very rewarding when you finally beat a boss you were struggling with.

The first Soulsborne game I got into was Bloodborne. My best friend had just died a couple months earlier and I was done up with a broken foot, so a couple of my friends and I started Bloodborne as a way to kind of reconnect and get close again, to just be there for each other. The mixture of all the pain and sorrow and friendship at that particular point in my life made it one of the most impactful games I've ever played, and my most cherished one.

My first game was Dark Souls 3. I saw a friend playing it when I was round his and asked to play and was instantly hooked haha. Who knew it would lead to so much pain and entertainment.

I played Dark Souls 1 when I was really young but Bloodborne truly brought me in to play all the soulsborne games because I realized how much i like the challenge it was so much fun

After the release of Dark Souls 3, I decided to buy all the Dark Souls games and challenge my self by playing the entire trilogy. So naturally my introduction to Fromsoftware games was Dark Souls 1. I hated it first, but then after giving it a second chance I fell in love with it and the other games along with it. Bought PS4 just to play Bloodborne and it was the best worth every cent. Got 100% completion in both PS4 and PC for Dark Souls games and Sekiro. Just recently earned platinum for Elden Ring. In the past 6 years I haven't really played much anything else than From Software games thanks to Dark Souls 1.

Love the coloring of these, really takes me back. My intro was Dark Souls 1. I tried it way back in the day and just didn't really get it, only did a couple of bosses and moved on to something else. But during lockdown a friend convinced me to try Hollow Knight, which I completed and loved, then thought it was worth going back to Dark Souls and after a lot of perseverance I finally beat it and still love it to bits.

Elden Ring was the game that got me to start playing FromSoft games but I always knew of Dark Souls due to their notoriety and through what a friend had told me. Now that same friend is guiding me through as I work through the series.

Bloodborn was my first SoulsBorn game. But when I bought it I didn’t even know it was a game developed by From Software!

The first game that got me into the fromsoftware franchise was definitey bloodborne. I had watched youtubers play dark souls and thought I would never be able to beat that game, and eventually I got a gaming pc and a ps4 and played Bloodborne. Now I'm obsessed with all the games and still have yet to play Sekiro but I'm so excited!

My first soulsbourne game was dark souls 3 which caused me to seek out other fromsoftware games, like elden ring. The mystery of the world and lore surrounding every element of the game was so unlike anything I have played before and got me hooked.

I got into the series with Dark Souls, never could play Demon Souls because I did not have a PS3. Did not play any of the other games though until Bloodborne really got me into the series - the atmosphere and the gameplay on that really hit the mark for me.

My intro was Bloodborne. As I had mentioned in your earlier video, I initially rage quit Bloodborne in the starting area :) I then came back to it several months later. Bloodborne is now easily one of my favourite games of all time. From Bloodborne, I went to DS3, then DS1, then DS2. And now, of course, Elden Ring. A journey I didn't expect, but I've loved.

Elden Ring got me into the Fromsoft universe mostly due to the hype around it as I had never played a Souls-like game before. I’m very glad I gave it a shot!

I'm not sure if I would've gone as vibrant with the colors but they still look really nice. The game that got me into the series was actually the original Demon's Souls back in 2009. I'm pretty sure we rented it from game fly because of all the rumors spreading around about some ruthless rpg set in a medieval fantasy world. Even though the game was we weren't able to beat it at the time , my Dad and I fell in love with the game and ended up becoming die hard fans of the games.

DARK SOULS 1 BABY!!! discovered it a few years after it released and haven’t had an experience in a game close to playing that for the first time since. DS3 demon’s souls and the rest are amazing but something about 1 was extraordinary.

I think Bloodborne or Dark Souls were the first ones i saw that really intrigued me.

My first FromSoftware game was Bloodborne, I gave up playing at first because the difficulty was too much for me at the time but I came back to it and 100%completed it.

Dark Souls 1 on PC is what got me into the soulsborne series. Somehow through all the bug and the terrible the underlying game shown through and I never put it down. It was a real struggle at having to find mods to fix the game but it was so worth it. The old DS Mouse fix days were wild XD

For me, it was Dark souls 1. I was away from games for almost 10 years, and I friend showed me some years before Demon Souls.And was Dark Souls that finally got me back into gaming. It wasn't just because I love dark fantasy, but because its difficulty reminded me of the days of Nintendo, when games didn't were just difficult, but also a little unfair. And achieving victory was something you have to earn with practice, learning and patience. There is nothing that I love more to be challenged.

Sekiro! One of, if not my favorite soulsborne games and I still appreciate the risks from soft took in making a game away from the souls style in combat and progression but still it’s such a good game

The paintjob is great especially considering that the hollows in the game don't really have that much going on, which is what I like in Elden Ring and how they spruced up some of the generic enemies in various areas of the game. And for what got me into the soulsborne genre as a whole would be dark souls 2, I don't recall whether it was OG or sotfs. I had just happened upon it one day while browsing for games at some random game shop and I've loved the series ever since.

The first one for me was DS3. I was buying my first console in a very, very long time and saw the game at the store and grabbed it. The clerk at the game store tried to talk me out of buying it, he told me it was going to be too hard and I wouldn’t like it. He was right about it being hard, it was difficult for me at first because I’d never played a game like it before. But I fell in love with it once I finally figured it out, which led me to go back to play DS1, DS2 and Sekiro afterwards, and then finally Elden Ring once it came out.

My first fromsoft game was DS1, but I couldn't hack, I picked up DS2 some time later and really got the hang of it but I didn't complete it until I really fell in love with series, it was DS3 that triggered the love, I went back and played through the rest of them properly.

My first game I played was Dark Souls 1, I was stuck on the asylum demon for about 8 hours, decided to quit and when the remaster got released, I decided to try it again and got hooked.

My brother introduced me to the souls series but I didn't really like it at first because it was too hard for me to play.. but then I started Sekiro and really got into it. And now I have played and love all the soulsborne games :)

Dark souls 1, always wanted to finish it so decided to play it, was around the time dark souls 3 came out and I played the whole series from there.

Way back in 2011 my coworkers was like yo Mango mango I have never downed a six pack so fast in my life. You gotta play this game…. Little did I know this game was gonna get me hooked into a series. I knew nothing about this game and I still remember my first playthrough till this day. Let hope my little dude and the one that’s on the way take up the souls torch lol.

My introduction to dark souls was dark souls 3. I can also tell you the exact time when I startes because my very first character was named XxGoblinSlayerxX which was around the time when the goblin slayer anime came out (and i thought the x's looked funny). But ever since my first playthrough (which my friend helped me out with tremendously, thank you otherwise i would have never been able to beat twin princes holy shit) i just loved the aesthetic and tone of the game. So I went in the opposite order and played ds2 and ds1 last. Tbh after all this time, I personally think ds2 is fromsoft's hidden gem and is probably like the best, but I can't help going back to ds3, so many fond memories.

I tried to play Dark Souls II at launch, (borrowing my little brother’s babysitter’s friend’s copy) but I bounced off of it really quickly. I gad heard so much of the mythologizing about how difficult the games were, and at the time I (then a foolish teenager) had a narrative I told myself about myself that I was innately bad at video games, stemming from the fact that my friends all consistently beat me in Halo and COD multiplayer. With nobody encouraging me to push through with DSII, I gave up quickly, assuming that the game was simply impossible for someone like me. Then the next year Bloodborne came out at a time when I was really starved for good gothic horror media outside of Romantic period novels (I love the novels, but sometimes you just want to play a video game). I borrowed the game at launch (from my brother’s best friend’s mother), and got further than I did with DSII, but still bounced off. Then I got the game for Christmas that year, and resolved to beat it. It has been my favorite video game ever since!

As my favorite dark souls game was the first one. When I found out they had made a board game with loads of the DS1 enemies and characters In it I just had to get it. So DS1 was the game that got me hooked on the board game 👍

I stared with DS3, at first I was a bit hesitant as the aesthetic was dark and creepy, and I had never played anything like it before, but I'm glad I took the leap as I've had countless hours of fun (and probably an equal amount of frustration)

I really loved this video! My first (and favorite) FromSoftware game was Dark Souls 3 and I was just amazed by it! I've never thought I'd play a Dark Souls because all the comments about this series really frightened me but I'm so glad that the game was fun and introduced me to other FS games! BTW I'm stuck in a boss in Elden Ring and I still did not had the courage to go back to the game and beat it

I bought the Demon's Souls Remake not knowing how hard it was and rage quit after Tower Knight, then tried Dark Souls 3 and rage quit after the Curse-Rotted Great wood. Third time proved to be the charm with Bloodborne which was the first game in the series I stuck with and eventually beat. Now of course, I beat the other two and Elden Ring, and I've never been happier about a game series before.

The first game I technically played was DS3 when I rented it from Redbox when it came out, but I couldn’t beat Iudex Gundyr so I dropped it, and didn’t touch the series until Demon’s Souls Remake. Main reason I played it was because it looked gorgeous and there wasn’t any other launch titles besides Miles Morales, and I fell in love with Demon’s Souls. I’ve replayed it at least 4 times since it came out, and since then played and beaten every single one, save for DS2 and Sekiro.

My journey started with Demon souls on release. I chose it over dragon age origins when both released at the same time. From there Ive purchased them all. Amazing paint job.

What got me into darksouls games was actually my younger brother. I used to watch him all the time playing darksouls prepared to die. But the game that got me into the soulsborne world was EldenRing. Its the first one I've 100% completed.

Dark Souls 3 got me into the genre. Its cover just cooled dark and atmospheric and "cool". the intro fascinated me instantly, after I defeated the first boss and read its lore I got hooked to the rest of the series.

What got me into FromSoftware games was actually a let's play channel here on youtube called Game Grumps they played Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 and I was hooked from the beginning. It fits my aesthetic and changes difficulty depending how you play and I love that about games

Dark Souls 2 got me into the games becuase I got it as a Christmas present

My first soulsborne game was Dark souls 3. Then I got Ds 2 ds 1 Bloodborne and Elden Ring. These games are awesome, especially world desing and charakter.

I actually started with DS1 on PC when I was still at university, a friend of mine had talked to me about it, I heard of it before but didn’t care for its (what I thought at the time) “try hard” difficulty. After some while and my friend convincing me, I got the game on steam while it was on sale and it was of to a bad start. It was simply a port of the Xbox version, the camera was atrocious to control with the mouse, barely playable. I had to download a mod to make it more bearable. I finally started to play, died to the Asylum Demon, managed to kill it, made my way to undead burg, tried the Taurus Demon a few times before getting bored and stopped playing. I thought those games just were not made for me, but boy was I wrong! A few years later, I went to visit a friend in Paris, it was during the Pokemon Go craze and we talked about catching some together. I stayed at his place for a few days, and one evening he told me about this new game he got, Dark Souls 3. I told him I tried to play DS1 but didn’t really enjoy it, but I didn’t mind watching him play. So I did, and after a while he asked me if I wanted to try. Honestly, the game looked great and while I didn’t enjoy my time in Lordran so far, I really liked the world and design of those games, so I said I’d give it a go. And I LOVED it. Didn’t go very far (I managed to go as far as the curse rotten great wood over two nights I think) wasn’t very good, but really enjoyed my time. I hadn’t gotten a PlayStation back then, I just had my switch, so I thought I’ll never play it again. I gave DS1 on PC a chance again, got a bit farther but I realised at that moment that I needed a controller, I couldn’t continue playing with keyboard and mouse. Finally, they announced DS1 remastered for the switch, and finally I began my real journey through Lordran. Loved the series since then, got a ps4 for Christmas, bought the Dark Souls collection, played through all of them, got Bloodborne, then Sekiro, Demon’s Souls for ps5 later and finally Elden Ring. I really fell in love with those games, can’t get enough!

While DS1 got me into Fromsoft games, I never beat it on my first playthrough (got stuck at Sif). It was 3 that I fell in love with, which got me to go back and replay DS1 which I finally beat.

I got into souls by watching my friend play the original dark souls. The scale, the timing, the atmosphere, the rolling, I remember a lot of rolling; it was all so intriguing.

Dark Souls 2 was my first Souls experience (which was rough) but my first actual proper dive into the series was Demon's Souls

DS1 got me into FromSoft games. The dark fantasy setting and badASS designs and cryptic story & items altogether pulled me in. I rented the game originally and then later bought it on Steam. I was scared to play it, scared to get further into the world which seemingly had no way out. But man was it so interesting and creepy. I watched a lot of EpicNameBro and would just listen to his videos of him playing and narrating, while I worked on my animation assignments in grad school. I work in VFX/film now and I always say I would love to work on one of their titles, even if we just did a trailer or supplemental content for a release and not the game itself.

The first game I played from FromSoftware was bloodborne, but I didn't know it was a fs game. I didn't really like it so didn't finish it. Later on my friend told about this hard game called dark souls he just bought and had a hard time in. My competitive gene then kicked in and I just had to beat it before him, and that was when I fell in love with fromsoftware and now it is the only games I'm playing

What game I played first? Dark Souls 1. What game got me to play Dark Souls 1? Dark Souls 2. It's weird, I know but I one of my favourite RU-vidrs started a Dark Souls 2 playthrough around 2018 and it became my fav series from him and thanks to it (and my obsession with video games) I bought the original Ds1 in the first half of 2020 and it got me into the souls series. Since then I played all the games that have came out on pc :D

Bloodborne all the way! While my first souls game was Dark Souls one, which I thoroughly enjoyed, it just didn't click for me like Bloodborne did. Not to mention it unlocked my love for Lovecraftian themes in pop culture. To this day Bloodborne is one of my favorite games and fully set me on my path into the realm of the soulsborne franchise.

Crossbowmen always pissed me off. Always shoot from above under the cover of swordsmen in front. No wonder near the crossbowmen you can often see the inscription - "Revenge and then pleasure!"

When ds2 sotfs released my friend bought the game and he told me that it was a great game to play togheter so i did and indeed it was fun

Dark souls 3 introduced me to FromSoftware. I believe I saw game grumps play it and decided to give it a shot. I was really bad at the game, so I frequently summoned others to beat the bosses for me. Regardless, the world entranced me and I’ve been playing the games ever since.

When I was little I would watch my dad play ds1 and 2. Eventually I played 3 and got obsessed, but never played attention to lore or anything. Then I played ds2 and still didnt pay much attention.(not that I could've, having started with the last games) I tried ds1, but it was too clunky for my back then. Years later, (2021) I decided to go back and put myself to playing through dark souls 1 for the first time, then beating 2 and 3 again while paying attention to lore. I got kinda lost in the lore of 2 as well as 3 a bit, and spent hours reading item descriptions and getting frustrated that people on old reddit threads werent explaining it in a way I understood. So you could say ds3 got me into it, but you could also say ds1 because I watched my dad play it.

When dark souls 1 released i heared People Talking good Things about it and that it is hard so i bought it, Played it and loved it

Elden Ring! Its the only souls game I've played but when it goes on sale (I can't afford the regular price at the moment unfortunately) I plan on getting the entire Dark Souls Trilogy.

I’ve only played dark souls 1 and Elden ring so far with ds1 being the first one I played. It took about 3 times of playing the game, getting annoyed and lost then uninstalling before I got into it. Now the souls games are some of my favourite, I just need to get round to playing the other games
