How to paint Thousand Sons Rubric Marines

@@BrushandBoltgun These marines take soooo long though xD... I can paint 3 grey knights in the time to paint one Rubric. Praise Tzeench that the Terminators have a little bit less trim.

Cheers Nick, very much appreciated! :-) I've been thinking of a vid on that for a while to show different hints and tips. Will get one done over the next few weeks. :) Paint consistency isn't too much of a worry, obviously it depends on the climate and stuff, the loft gets HOT as anything in summer, and absolutely Baltic in the winter, but i've found if I keep my wet palette (the home made one - there's a vid on how I make it on here) wet it's not too bad. So a wet palette I think is a must, I've never bought one, but the home made one works fine. I get the paint out the pot, onto the palette and then use it straight like that. Take up less paint than you think you need and use that before adding more. Always drag your brush away from the point as this will give you thinner lines. Uhm... There's probably more. :-D I've done a few freehand/how to freehand videos that cover some useful tips though, may be worth having a look at those as i think they may be of use. :)

Cheers validus29, very much appreciated! :) To be honest, I just sprayed the whole sprue with black primer. I don't think there's a bad base using either, the miniature is about 50/50 blue and gold so either would work. For me I always find it easier painting the inner part first and the outer part second, but it's all down to personal choice. :)

@@BrushandBoltguni know it’s an old vid so my comment will probably be lost 😂 but when you prime parts before gluing them, isn’t it harder for them to stick together? I’ve had trouble doing so…

Cheers Gex, very much appreciated. :) It's worth a try. I'd try over a small area, I think they may have a little too much pigment but if you try it somewhere that's easy to paint over it'll give a good idea on whether it's workable. :) There's a lot of other shades can be used on gold, I tend to use Agrax Earthshade, but it does make them a little darker. :)

Hey Darkman, thanks for watching! :) I mainly use Citadel Medium and Small Layer Brushes, and Army Painter character and insane detail brushes :)
