Really enjoyed this tutorial. It reminded me of watching Bob Ross where he would do something and you'd go "oh no he ruined it", then 5 minutes later "ok now it looks cool". I'm going to employ some of these techniques when I do mine. The typhus corrosion on the tires was a neat trick.
I have found your channel just a few days ago, it has been a great help to improving the paint job on my Orks. Thank you and I can't wait for more content
Paint list: GW paints: Warplock Bronze Hashnut Copper Ironbreaker Leadbelcher Mephiston Red Evil Sunz Scarlet Wild Rider Red Zandri Dust Pallid Wych Flesh GW technical: Lamenters yellow (glaze) Tyhus Corrosion Agrax Earthshade (shade) Vallejo pigments: Desert Dust Burnt Umber Light Sienna(says natural umber on the paint splash screen but this is used in video) Other: Daler Rowney FW black ink AK interactive Streaking Grime enamel paint (for all vechiles colour) Vallejo flow improver (I assume this is used in the airbrush?) Vallejo thinner (used for mixing the pigments) Winsor & Newton Artists - oil colour - white spirit (for thinning the ak interactive enamel paint)
what are you using to set the dry pigment? it will all rub off eventually. I tend to use a dull coat in a mist sprayer and let it gently settle on the model.
Color variation and texture, plus you get a darker metal effect. Warplock brone dry brushed with leadbelcher is clearly going to look different then just solid leadbelcher
Amazing work ! I’m inspired to paint more minis cause if ya! Just curious if you had problems with the daler rowney inks? I found the purple, blues and reds got pretty chunky. I’m assuming cause they were in the shelf for a while. Any tips in fixing these ?
I haven’t had separation issues but very likely because they have been sitting for a while. If I a vigorous shake hasn’t fixed it I would suggest looking into a small paint mixer. I think Tamiya makes one for stirring up enamel paints. I think that might help bring the pigments together
Thanks! Vallejo's Airbrush flow improver. The ratios vary based on the thickness of the paint, but I never have an issue running GW paints through the airbrush
Quarter Paint ahh okay, maybe that’s where I’m going wrong a little, I have been using a 0.2, I’ll try a 0.3 and see if it makes any difference! Thanks for the advice!
