How to Pair an LG Soundbar with Subwoofer

@hashimmahmood2031 The SN7CY is not available in the North American market so it's hard to say. We look on LGs website and they don't mention anything about a separate subwoofer that can be used with that model.

@Vadym Kravets The subwoofers are specific to the soundbars they come with so you wouldn't be able to mix them up unfortunately.

@@abtelectronics but why the same sub (SHX56-D) is native for model BB5520A and HLX56s ??? In both model manuals we can see the same subwoofer model :)

@Vadym Kravets Some of the soundbars use the same subwoofer. But each soundbar will only work with the type of subwoofer that comes in the box with it.

Move it away from any routers or wifi it interrupts the Bluetooth signal

I have the same problem.....WF is on 6, the highest and barely rumbles during movies or shows. Very disappointment in the LG Sub Woofer. Can't find anything online or the forums. Your comment was the first that I've seen about the matter.

@@coburn_karmaYeah, Can't find anything online in any forums. Are you using HDMI ARC cable for connecting the sound bar to TV.?

@@rintusojan7909 Using HDMI ARC, tried disconnecting and reconnecting, but still the same low bass volume. My older LG soundbar has more bass. My new model is the SP9YA. Made the wrong choice.

@@coburn_karma Yes, agree with you. My sound bar is having more Bass than my Sub. Need to keep my ears close to my Sub to hear the base sound.

@@rintusojan7909 There seems to be a PCB board that LG sells to replace inside the sub woofer. Saw a video on it, but I don't think my problem applies in this situation since it connects via bt, but just crazy low volume.

@dhyanaflower3543 The subwoofer does not require wi-fi to connect to the soundbar. They establish a direct connection with one another.

@dimamazepa These types of subwoofers will only pair with specific models. If you know the soundbar model number it will be easier to determine if this sub will work with it.

@Colonel Sky Some LG soundbars are capable of connecting to additional surround speakers, but it depends on your model.

@@abtelectronics after digging around a little bit I found one from LG They posted a one minute video. But yeah, that would be a great idea.

Exactly my issue

@David If the light is solid green that means it's connected properly. You may just need to adjust the subwoofers output. To do that you'll need to press the sound tuning button on the remote until the display on the soundbar says WF (subwoofer). Then press the up button on the directional pad to raise the sub level. If the light on the back of the sub is solid red, that means the connection was not made and you'll need to try the pairing process again. Another way to try would be to unplug both sub and soundbar from their power sources for a few minutes then plug the soundbar back in first, then the subwoofer.

@@abtelectronicsThank you, I got a LG soundbar today and the light was green but (apparently) no sound was coming from the subwoofer. I could feel some vibration Your tip about the WF setting helped me, the movie title theme shook me up.

Try turning volume to zero then going through this reset method. Worked for me. For some reason its easier to pair when the volume is off and from time to time just wont connect with it on. One of its quirks apparently

@thetrooper4955 It doesn't look like that is a model we carry here in the US. The SN7CY looks to be very similar, but does not show an available optional subwoofer.

Same even when I unplug it and plug it back up

@Akbal25 Sounds like it might be something else if the LED isn't turning on at all. Possibly a problem with the outlet it's plugged into, or the power supply in the subwoofer itself. @Luis Castillo The soundbar doesn't connect to the subwoofer with a wire. They work through bluetooth. The optical cable will go from the soundbar to your TV. If the method in this video isn't working, you may want to try unplugging both the soundbar and subwoofer from their power sources for a few minutes, then plug them back in soundbar first followed by the subwoofer. We've had success with that method as well.

@@abtelectronics no im saying i believe there is a cable missing for the sound bar. They only gave me the optical cable but i imagine there should a power cord for it no?

@Luis Castillo Yes, there should definitely be a power cord. The soundbar should have one as well as the subwoofer.

@mavicone5845 These systems are designed to work independently. There are some soundbars available that you can add additional surround speakers to, but otherwise they're designed to work as standalone systems.

@kenross863 No, you would not need wifi to make this work. The connection between the soundbar and the subwoofer is made via bluetooth. All you'd need is to plug in both pieces to a power source.

@Melvin Mauri It's possible that there is something wrong with the power supply if the light is not coming on. Try making sure everything is plugged in tightly. If the power cord is securely connected and it's still not working, you may need service.

@obasidavid7058 You may want to try unplugging both items from the wall and leave them out for a few minutes. Then plug them back in soundbar first, then subwoofer. We've had success using that method as well.

@J0sh.D If the light doesn't come on at all then you may not be getting power to the subwoofer. Try testing it on another outlet in the room that's on a different circuit. @Ronald Jose Jr That means it's still trying to establish a connection. There are a couple things you can try. 1, try moving the subwoofer closer to the soundbar. Or 2, if the subwoofer is close to the soundbar and it's still not working try unplugging them both from the wall for a few minutes. Then plug the soundbar back in first, followed by the subwoofer. I got the same problem , I think there’s a piece inside That I might have to get it replaced

@Deniz Hoffmann If this method didn't work you may want to try unplugging both soundbar and subwoofer from the wall for a few minutes, then plug them back in soundbar first followed by the subwoofer. We've had success with that method as well.
