Just watching this makes it all make sense logically I’m going to a school that’s teaching tape and not one person mentioned why we using tape when really all you have to say is “about 45 degrees” for someone like me who likes to know WHY so my brain can digest the action I need this type of instructing - this beats weeks of blah blah from this nonsense school I’m goin to
I feel the same way this video better explains than my trucking school also. The other day I struggled backing up didn't understand the concept since it wasn't explained like this. It looks easier than it is to perform this
I can't stress how much of a blessing this video is. Today was my first time attempting to parallel park a trailer in school and it was a damn nightmare. There were 7 of us and the other 6 all had great experiences the day prior with a different instructor....however, with TODAYS instructor, even they all failed and struggled miserably under her guidance. Her attitude was horrible, yelling at us, asking us "why we're doing certain things" etc like we should already know. Speaking down to us. Pissing us off and literally not doing shit to improve the situation. It took the combined efforts of us putting our minds together to get each other to have 4 of us do it successfully smh horrible experience. My first day and i didn't even get a demo or explanation on steps, degrees, what to look for, where to set my corners etc This video literally did in 4 minutes what the instructor failed to do in 4 hours. Im saving this video, and sharing it to the rest of the group 💯 thank you so much for taking the time to do this.🙏🏿
Yea I had the same problem with my instructor, I got my CDL in Atlanta. I opted for a 1 on 1 school just me and the instructor and he was an A**h*+le very rude and demeaning. But I Tuffin through it, and I got my CDL. And these will be the same people being mentors to new drivers when u get ur first trucking job
Watched your videos and made way more sense than how my trainers explained, just passed my CDL test today in Fontana CA.. if you follow these steps you will be just fine!
Thank you very much for this video lesson. I passed parallel parking in Washington State, all that remains is to pass the city. The instructors at our school hardly taught us how to park, so I decided to find other lessons and it’s good that I found you. Thank you very much again.
I recently passed the test and I learned this maneuver with experienced trainers. Your method is different but the same in many ways. I want to emphasize to new drivers how important the 45 degree angle maneuver is. It's the key to nailing the parallel. The creator spoke fast towards the end but listen carefully. The 45 degree in the beginning and 3rd maneuver are the most important. We used a 4 turn system. When left hand parallel parking: RLLR with a straight back in between. I hope this helps someone.
Thank you for this video. We teach a slightly different way at my school, but having different ways to show students gives them more opportunities to find the method that works for them. Great video!
I just enrolled in a trucking program and the people here speak only Punjabi well a lil broken English 😅This video helped me a lot with the parallel instructions. Thank you 🫡
Thank you for uploading this video! I’ve been in trucking school for a month now and just could not get this down. I watched this video twice and BOOM! I paralleled like a boss!!!
Now I have a clue. Great video! Great driving skills! 👍👍 I’ll be doing the yard training next week so I’m just trying to get myself warmed up before the actual yard training. Thanks for the video!!
Finally I real video that shows and explain what to do . I take my skill test this Friday and I have been having problems with my offset backing. Watching this video I have confidence know .
This is the best video I have ever watched. It really helped me a lot. I pass my skills today with the first attempt!! Thank you so much you guys are great
Im not in a school but it scares the shit out of me to think about backing up that huge truck. Good job with your instuctions on working this procedure.
Working through this again to make sure I sent out this point to this community on the comments, Stray Administration (channel) had me when I came to CDL, they had faster connection to the DMV offering legal training certs as well as the necessary things you need to start on your job as a truck driver, and not all was compulsory on the list...
Thanks so much for this! When i tried learning this maunever, my school said " we ain't gonna b there on test day to tell u what to do..u gotta figure it out"!! $10 grand later im watching these videos to understand the maunevers
I take my test next week! I'll let u know. It's not difficult when you become acclimated to the size of the 🚚, etc. It's intimidating at 1st BUT as a WOMAN pursue any GOAL OR DREAM YOUR ❤️ DESIRES! YOU CAN ANCHIEVE ANYTHING W/ HARD WORK, DEDICATION & TIME! GO FOR IT!!!😉
This video helped me a lot getting my cdl, but I recommend you to find a part in the lines where you know u need to stop after you straight You truck, for the second 45 degree I recommend you to use you rear tractor tire (not trailer tire) and when you are about a foot from the line start to straight the truck
The tractor steer box turn ratio will factor some variables into this maneuver. My school has all same model tractors, but some have tighter turn ratios. We factor this into the starting point at where to pullup at first cone
I wish my instructor was as good as you. He just scream at me and say “turn the goddamn wheel!” and say things like “fix the problem!” I ended up getting dropped from the school cause I couldn’t get my parallel before test day.
I wish you were my instructor. Cause today I got yelled for my instructor because I didn't do right and she wasn't even tell how to do it cause she was talking with ppl that she feels identify. It was my first time ever. She makes feel like I am Sh1t.. :( and I have one more week left before be testing. You make it easy I hope I can put this in practice. Thank you for the video and been professional.
@@CDLInstructorSAGE You're welcome. I'm having problems straight line backing up. When backing up the trailer goes to the driving side or the passenger side not straight. Getting very frustrated & depressed with it. The other 2 backing I tried once but also wasn't good at it. Thank you for your reply. I wished you all were training me.
The set up,not over steering AND taking your time watching the trailer are keys.Aim for a cone to focus on if i were you.Get out to look ti make sure your trailer wont go out of boundaries once thats clear.park it.if you see the cones in front of you, youre TOO far back(use that as essentials to know youre clear if you have no more get out & looks).Great video
Are there any reference points I can use when I look in my mirror to know when my tandems are just behind the front cones and when my truck is 45 degrees to my trailer?
Check your trailer landing gear driver side. When those cross x bars of the landing gear meet before you see the blind side landing gear on your view mirror thats approximately the 45 degrees.
