We bought a quart of the primer and a quart of the topcoat and had some left of each can. That is with two coats of topcoat on the luggage rack and pop top. nate

Interlux Brightside comes in a number of different white colors, your Amazon link shows "white". Did you simply use the one called "white"? Thanks!

I am goign to try the Hatteras off white - interesting is that Total Boat has the same paint names as Interlux, and just a few dollars less. It was 53 a quart but seems now, they want 68 ?? nah. Total Boat is 55 as of 4-12-24.

What kind of solvent did you use prior to prime? Just regular paint thinner?

We used isopropyl alcohol for the top but did use a bit of acetone when repairing the crack. nate

Hi Nate, just found your channel and really appreciate your content so far! For the Primer/paint combo, how has it held up so far? Never having dealt with fiberglass, I'm not sure if I need resin to seal the top or if a primer/paint combo would suffice. Either way, thanks for your videos!

It looks like the day I painted it minus a few trail scuffs that I think will buff out next spring. My luggage rack was really bad and I just put on two coats of primer and two coats of the topcoat and it worked really well. Just don't skimp on prep. Make sure it is super clean and follow the directions on the can for application time and temp. thanks for watching! nate

Does yours leak? We like ours for venting when hot or cooking but besides that, it is not really used. nate

@@ThatBaldwinLife it has. It loosens up over time and leaks a little. If I’m heading into rain I try to check it. IMHO a skylite should have a fan if you’re going to the trouble of putting a hole in the roof. A battery powered fan would be a nice bonus.
