Much respect to you and accountants🔥🔥🔥🔥. B.Rekeningkunde is no joke, i dropped after first year and did other things. I know intelligent people who could not go past CTA...
Great video! I love these tips and feel they can be universally applied. I especially find the last two tips useful: listening to music and praying are very great strategies for stress relief and studying. Thank you for the link to the gospel song as well. It's beautiful! 😍👍
Very helpful Mufaro ,quick question did you get extra help or tutors for CTA level 2 or you studied on your own? Can you please send me the link for your group if you have one.
Hi there. I am glad you founf the tips helpful. I studied on my own. However I do recommend joining Endunamoo or whichever school of your choice if you can afford it. If u search on the facebook group you should find the link to the CTA whatsaap groups. I was not in study grouo per say.
Hey Mufaro. I need your help. I think we share a similar CA journey, in a sense that I also did my undergrad BAcc degree as a full time student at UJ. However, it's only now 2 years later that I'm beginning with my CTA at Unisa. I'm starting with level 1. Now my problem is that, as you've mentioned that spending time on the theory and not practicing questions is no recipe for passing CTA. But my issue is that I haven't been doing this for 2 years because of financial problems. I fell victim to restudying the theory because I haven't been on my books for such a long time. How would you advise me to study effectively, taking into account that I haven't been at school for the past 2 years?
Hi There. Try to refer back to your undergraduate notes when you attempt a question you felt is difficult. It is a good thing you are starting with CTA level 1. Trust that you still remember your work. And you will be back into it. You may need to spend more time since u were not studying for 2 years. I hope that if you are working. Your work is not too demanding.
Hi, thank you so much for sharing these tips ♡ I'll be doing my cta level 1 at unisa next year and I'm clueless on what to expect, can you please recommend where can I find best tutors to help me and lastly please share material you used that you think will help me next year.
The tip of stop studying 6pm before... you know, I try that every time but I can't relax, the only time I relax and at a stage of "God take control" is like 2 hours before the exam. But I totally agree that your brain needs the rest.
Hi there. This is a very good question. I would focus on 1 module per week. Roughly. Sometimes u have to do 4 days. And also spend more time on a more demanding module. Also 4 to 5 hours per day.
Hi Mufaro, I hope you are well. I wanted to ask you more about the CTA program and your advice. So I just recently finished my diploma (internal auditing) at a non saica accredited institution( took me quite some time to finish it 4 1/2 years 😭💔) I'm contemplating doing a CTA level one or Advanced diploma in internal auditing. Which one would you suggest?
Hi There, it depends on what you woukd like to do in the future. If you want to be a CA(SA) then u have to do CTA Level 2. But u also have to find out what are the entry requirements. Since your degree in internal auditing is not from a SAICA accredited institution u may have to do a bridging to CTA course. You can do your research abt it and find out more.
Hi, I just passed CTA 1 and I'm busy with level 2 now. I was just curious - was CTA 2 a lot more challenging in terms of how advanced/complicated the questions were?
Hi there. I do not believe that it is possible. However the best would be to approach universities and find out if they can accept you for 3rd year Bachelor of Accounting. Or unisa calls it BCTA bridging to CTA course.
Hi there. It all depends on you. Other people have passed well while working. But personally J feel doing CTA at unisa is still veey demanding of your time. So if you struggle with multi tasking. Its not a good idea. IT also depends on the tyoe of job. A part time job would be a beter idea
@@MufaroMYT I wanted to ask about this. Honestly studying full time from home with unisa is so hard. The discipline level required😩 I'm doing better than I thought but it's still a struggle some days.
hi Mufaro , quick Q ... I have an Advanced Diploma in Financial Accounting not the Cta one from UNISA , Can I do CTA postgrad or do i have to do the Advanced Diploma in Financial Accounting CTA 1st and then go on to do Honours which is the CTA postgrad ?
There is no cta "honours" If your degree does not have the requirement to do a mini thesis then it cant be called honours. The cta is called post graduate diploma in applied accounting science. That is cta level2
It is definately not a must. But It also depends on how stroong your undergrad knowledge is, cause it is sufficient to pass cta. I would recommend Drury and silke for tax. thats abt it really, Though I MYSELF NEVER USED SILKE, only used Drury.
Hi There, I for example had to do CTA L1 because I did not do my third year in one year, so it depends, however CTA L1 IS ADVANCED AND CTA L2 IS APPLIED. the content is exactly the same, however at CTA L2 u are expected to apply your knowledge, also CTA L2 is the one that SAICA will recognise, should you want to continue on to do board exams.
@@MufaroMYT Thank you for the info. I'll be doing my CTA L1 next year and I am scared and nervous 😓. How much is the registration and did you attend a private institution for classes?
@@Phum_la The Registration should be +/- R8000. I did not have a school. I did it on my own. Going back to my undergrad notes for support. However some schools are really good. I recommend it if u feel you will need it.
I was not part of a CTA support program. I would say if you can affordit go for it, they seem to be helpful, so is the word on the street. but most important make sure you have enough time to go through your work on your own.
Hi I wanted to ask a question maybe you have some information on this. I have a undergrad BCom Accounting Degree from UJ. I was hoping to study at UNISA and do the Advanced Diploma in Accounting Sciences which is the bridging program to CTA would that be a viable option?
Hi There I am not sure which advanced diploma you are referring to. Because I believe the Advanced diploma 98231... is not a bridging course according to my knowledge. Its CTA Level 1. And with a Bcom Acc degree u might not qualify. However there is another course this a bridging course. I will try to find the code for it. But its like doing 3rd year BAccounting modules.
@@MufaroMYT Thanks so much for responding. I think the one you are thinking of is the PGDA level CTA level 1 98231. I saw that unisa was offering The Advanced Diploma in Accounting Sciences 98230 CTA stream. I think that's the bridging course
@@world9806 hey, I know its late but if you have done this route, was CTA level 2 more challenging for you or do you think the advanced diploma prepared you enough.
@@siyathandwa_says I think depends on the individual person’s knowledge and how busy they are, personally this year went extremely bad for me but I do believe I would’ve done better if I was attending tutor classes.
hi this is really fruitful thanks a lot. i need your help ,this year im doing my 3rd year at a non saica accredited institution, so ill apply at UNISA next year ,advance diploma in accounting sciences so im asking that where can i get funding and while you were doing CTA did you get funding?
I am glad you found the video useful. I hear that NSFAS no longer considers giving funding for CTA, you can look into AWCA, im just not sure if they consider UNISA students. Or other private bursaries out there. I am just not too sure
Hi there, I hope you found the video helpful. I have posted a few videos around CTA. I don't really know how to mentor someone. But I wish you all the best, work hard and don't forget to rest and put your mental health first. Should you have further questions my email address is in my description box
I have a Bcom HR Management degree but I am interested in branching into the accounting stream. I obtained my degree from Unisa. Will I have to start from scratch and do Bcom Financial accounting from level 1? Or, is there an alternative in a form of a bridging course before I do my CTA? Please advise
Hi Prudence. I do not want to lie. I do not know. Easpecially because HR management is very different to accounting. The bridging course to CTA is usually done by people that have bcom financial accounting. You might have to start from first year. But you can do more research on UNISA's page.
@@allthingsluxury6877 I was told I can only do that if my BCOM was finance or accounting related. My BCOM was HR, which has nothing to do with accounting or finance. Oh well
