Hi Jay! I found you when I started my preparation just two weeks ago. I probably practiced for 7 hours total (excluding two mock tests) but really tried to apply the tips you gave to develop my strategy. I took my exam yesterday and my scores are as follows: S-90 L-90 R-90 W-88. I just want you to give you a BIG THANK YOU for sharing your expertise. Hello everyone, I will share a general summary of what I learned during my practice. For detailed tips/tricks, please refer to the questions-specific videos from E2. Please note that this would be more suitable for someone who is preparing for the exam in a short period of time, say, 2-3 weeks. 1) Understand the PTE exam. (You can refer to the 30 minute summary video from E2. Watch it several times focusing once on the type of questions, then on the timing/structure of the sections) 2) List down all the different types of questions and identify their relative weightage. 3) Allocate your time based on the priority of the questions, spending more time for the most important/high weightage questions such as SST, WFD etc. 4) While you do this, identify your weak areas and deliberately try to improve those, instead of spending more time on questions that you already feel comfortable with. 5) Once you finish question-specific practice, sit for a few mock tests to get the full exam experience. You can try to do this in a noisy environment to prepare for the worst. This is very important because at the end of the day, it is about how you manage your time and persevere through the 3 hour exam. Not to mention eat and sleep well the night before. Breathe deeply during the exam. Open up your vocal cords by talking to people at home/work or at the exam center, before you start your speaking section. I also found the 10 minute break before the listening section very advantageous. GOOD LUCK

Hey Jay! I gave my PTE Academic today. My preparation was limited to just a few hours of watching your videos yesterday. Surprisingly, I received my scores within a couple of hours of giving the test. S - 90, L - 90, R - 90 & W - 87. OVERALL 89! Honestly I only watched 4 of your videos including a mini mock test one. One of the tricks I used for repeat sentences was noting down the first Initial of each of the spoken word and nailed it. I equally used the tips you had shared for sentence formulas/templates. While I have been educated in English throughout, I was a bit nervous (as everyone would be) and your videos helped me calm my nerves a bit. Thank you so much for doing what you do! Please know this: It is helping many people across the globe. Cheers to you and team E2.

I truly think I owe you for getting a good score on my PTE today, Jay! ⭐️ literally had about an hr and a half prep and only by watching your videos. (disclaimer, folks: I do not, in any way, promote leaving it til last minute to prep) mine was unintentional. I rescheduled my exam 5x because I never get the chance to study. then I completely forgot that it was today and too late to reschedule. I haven't even had one look on the reviewers my friends shared with me because there was just no time. So I typed "PTE" on youtube and found Jay's channel! I've watched bits and pieces while otw to the test centre. I scored 90 on speaking and listening. wish I had time to watch writing. that was my lowest score :( but overall, I got 84. @@rahuljani2784 I'll be honest bro, I did practice all the skills individually for just like 5-6 days and that was it for me. Don't stress out, its easy. One tip for you would be keep focused in the initial speaking section because you will be able to hear other rest takers also speaking but you have to focus on your own task. All the best. Btw which uni are you joining and with what course? I'm joining in Feb session as well.

Hello, Jay, hi, E2Lanuage! Thank you for the video. Unfortunately, I didn't catch one phrase from that text passage, "While its role in the reduction of obesity has been questions, ...". I stumbled on this phrase trying to figure out the meaning. later on, I failed to find something like "to be a question", "to be questions" etc., in dictionaries - they lack such set phrases. Could you clarify, please, what it means? P.S. By the way, maybe it's ".. has been questioned?"

Hi Jay, I gave exam last month and wasn’t happy with the score. I didn’t do well in speaking. Overall test was easier than expected but while speaking, I was distracted by other candidates, they were so loud and I couldn’t deliver my speaking tasks properly. @@ruchirrahande Thanks! I tried to do at least 30 mins daily for 3 weeks. On the last 10 days, I did a mock test to get to know the exam format, and then marked the sections I didnt feel comfortable with, so I watched the E2 language videos on RU-vid to get some tips and also some other RU-vid videos or apps for practice...but studying is a definite must. Hope it helps! Good luck :)

@@TheHitsukia Cancelled and require to re-schedule because the test centres are closed - to obey retriction orders / SOP related to Covid19. Used to it. More practices for me.

Make sure you put a space after your comma or each one will count as a spelling error.

@@gurdeepbrar6262 yes, and pretty much after most punctuation, with the exception of apostrophes and brackets or quotation marks at the start of the sections, need a space after the end bracket (unless followed by a full stop) or end quotation mark (no space between full stop, comma, ! Or ? and the following closing quotation mark). You also need an s on the end of present simple verbs which have a singular noun or pronoun (except you which for some reason follows the rules for plural nouns) before it (e.g this depicts natural views, as this is singular, also wouldn’t use about in this sentence). You can’t say “suggest me”, should be “as you suggested”, or “as you suggested to me”. I would practice writing by typing in notepad first then copying and pasting into word to see what the spell check and grammar check (though the grammar check in word isn’t the best) highlights. That will give you an idea of what errors a computer will pick up on. If you don’t have word the spell check in gmail is similar. For listening if you only have a week I would advise you to have something on in English whenever you can even if it is just in the background as your mind will start to get used to differentiating words. It will also help with learning collocations which will help you in the reading. For speaking, singing English songs helps a lot as it is easier to copy rhythm, intonation and stress learning a song than to try to copy plain speech. Make sure it is a song with complex vocabulary. Musicals are good for this as they have to tell a story so need a wider range of vocabulary. I would suggest the Hamilton musical which you can find on RU-vid with lyrics, but even Disney movie songs have a surprisingly high level of English in them if you prefer that style. For PTE specific stuff the methods videos on this channel are fantastic.

@@shreyakad8570 you have 3 hours but the length of each section varies depending on the random generation of questions. The speaking and writing section times each item. The reading and listening sections give you an overall time limit so you need to manage your time wisely. The higher scoring items are at the end of the section and a lot of people miss out on marks because they spend too long on the earlier low scoring items. Unfortunately you can’t skip items and come back to them later. You have to do them in order.
