Great information! I did want to mention that if you fail the FE exam 3 times they will require you to show proof of additional education/learning before taking it again. Not sure exactly what kind of proof you'd need. Maybe a class or proof that you took the practice exam.
I'm having trouble finding the exact location. The NCEES Exam guide states, " NCEES policy allows examinees to attempt a particular NCEES examination one time per testing window and no more than three times in a 12-month period, which begins with the examinee’s original approval date. Some licensing boards have a more restrictive policy. Visit ncees.org/boards to determine the policy of the licensing board you selected during the registration process." Maybe the additional learning was for a different state that I accidentally clickedvon. The KY rules don't say it. I'll keep looking.
Hi Raiya, This is perfect what you're doing. I remember reading a comment on study material. Someone has asked if you could upload some of the material you were using for your studying. Could you do that and share a link? That would really help me with getting started and probably not just me but everyone who's getting ready for taking FE in the near future. Thank you in advance :)
Did anyone buy the FE practice problems? I am about to take the other disciplines FE test, but the review manual is really expensive.... so i am considering to buy the practice problems instead. Does it work fine to you guys??
I agree I've been studying since January. How much in depth do you have to study each sub topics in a section? Im not too sure if it will be more conceptual questions or problem solving.
Alan, study them to the point where you are comfortable. The exam is mostly problem solving but they throw some conceptual questions here and there. You still need to understand the concepts, that will make solving them a lot faster.
I just got my master degree(engineering management) and I want to make FE exam .. but which section that I will choose ?? One more question, is FE require 4-year working experience?
Wow...thats nice... Its very useful... I am planning to take CBT FE with EE section, but I am not sure if it will be easy or not since its been 4 years that I am out of the school and now it is being hard to recall all those things that I studied back in days! Is there any other advise that you may want to provide? i tried before with paper tests but I just walked in to see how it works....it was tough for me....(May be I didnt prepare!) what ever, I also took Review course at Cal state LA which they used to offer at that time...but didnt really help! I have Linberg book for FE review. Is that sufficient? do you have email where I can ask more questions?
Hi Manan, you would have to start with the theoretical background of the topics first before starting to solve any problems. I used the Lindeburg book as well as the Potter book but it's not sufficient, that's why i started this channel. Do you have the NCEES practice? That's exactly how the exam looks like so try to get that one as well. Do you have your old college books? Go to your school library and borrow some of those books on circuits, controls, communications, computers...etc and review them. Hope that helps. You can email me at raiyaenergy@gmail.com for more questions.
+Raiya Energy Academy OK found it ...... thanks I will be coming to the US my visa is issued and need to prepare for the Exam ...... what certificate I need to bring form my university in Iraq?
+Manan Bhatt : Hi Manan. Did you pass the FE exam? which exam did you take FE electrical or FE other discipline? I have to write FE Exam, but I am not sure which one is easy to get prepared and pass FE electrical or FE general. If you get a chance, can we connect? I would appreciate if you can contact me at nspirzada1346@gmail.com
Thanks for your video Raiyna, I have a B.Sc. in Electrical engineering in Iraq, Can I get engineering jobs without taking FE exam? is it the only way to practice engineering in USA? as a foreign bachelor holder.
Like I told you in the email, you can get jobs without the FE even coming Iraq. The FE exam is not mandatory for the most part, it's just a plus, looks very good on resume. It's the first step towards your professional engineering license (PE) which is highly desirable by most companies to move up or gain certain engineering privileges like signing/sealing engr docs or leading certain engineering projects...etc.
Dear Raiya I wanted to have your opinion. I have almost forgotten Mathematics and Circuit Analysis. I am thinking of taking mathematics subjects in a near by community college for FE exam. Secondly could you recommend FE Electrical questions book if any like BIG book of GRE, Thirdly what is the procedure to register for FE exam on Pearson vue.
Hey Raiya, I just found out I failed the FE by 5 or 6 problems and I bust my butt study for that thing. I read through the Lindeburg PPI book twice and did all the practice problems and the diagnostic problems. I found out on the test that book was a waste of time. I need to pass this test but I don't want to spend hundreds of hours studying for it again. Is there a better way to approach this test?
+Shaun McKnight I also did the same thing Shaun. How did you find out about 5 or 6 problems. Did you take other discipline or specific exam? let's connect on how to pass this.
+kuyang_marvs " How I found out out about 5 to 6 problems? " You can go on the FE website and it tells you how many you got right in a certain area of the test. I knew there are 60 question on the common and the FE website tells you how many there were in a certain area and how many you got right, so add them all up and divide by 60, same on the discipline specific, add them up, if it's above 55.5 you passed. I got none of the statistics right so that's what sank me. Mine was the electrical engineering test exam. Sure dude if you want to connect but I'm sure how helpful I would be, I can tell you that that electrical engineer Lindeburg PPI book I bought was garbage. I would suggest doing an internet course are something.
+Shaun McKnight Did you check the FE other discipline exam details? I have seen a lot people writing FE general instead of FE (discipline specific), what do you think which one I should write as I am not sure which one is easy to get prepared and pass FE electrical or FE general. If you get a chance, can we connect? I would appreciate if you can contact me at nspirzada1346@gmail.com
Shawn this isn't at all true and to me just reads as a blatant lie to manipulate people. I calculated my score in the electrical FE exam I took two years ago by adding up my performance on my performance column. getting that number, (my number was 151.7) took that number 151.7 and divided it by 270. Why 270? Because when you take the total number of possible points you can get attributed on a 0-15 scale for each 18 sections it adds up to 270. Do 18*15 and you see equals 270. Now divide YOUR PERFORMANCE (which was scaled) by 270 and you have a number which makes sense and is a reference of how well you did compared to the BAR score. My score was higher than you say- and I believe that actually the score to pass is much higher than 55 or 60 percent. So don't bs people. You need to know a large portion of the exam going in, DO NOT shoot for 55 or even 60%
