Hi, I made a comment last month on this video, just want to say I ended up getting a Grade 9 in both Literature and Language in my MOCKs 😭😭 (only person in the year to do so aswell ❤️). Thank you so much for all your help, I could've never done this without you 🙏🙏.
@BennyBoy1627 Hi, sorry to hear about your mocks so far. I was disappointed with my Computer Science result (got a 4 but want to take it for A-Level). Your Year 10 MOCKs are basically useless, but getting disappointing results makes you more motivated to revise and achieve higher grades (We both have a year from now before GCSE). Would you like revision methods for English Language or all subjects??
@@FirstRateTutors Could you make a vieo on How To Pass The IGCSE EDEXCEL English Language 2023 Exams: AQA Language Paper 1 Walkthrough & Model Answers!. Please could you make it quick cuz the exam starting on 16th
I want to thank you so much. I am in Y10 and have my MOCKs this month (English Lang is my first exam on April 23rd). I started revision today, and despite being set 1, I had no idea how to revise for English Language, and I could barely answer any of the questions, at least not in detail. I decided to watch this video and make notes on everything, including your model answers, and I already feel so much more confident. My teacher has been focusing on English Literature for the past few weeks, so everyone in my class basically forgot everything we needed to know for English Language. You are so amazing, as my teacher predicted me a grade 9 for both Lang and and Lit a few weeks ago (I honestly don't know how, but a few months ago we worked on a past paper in lesson about a T-Rex, which was fairly easy) and I don't want to end up getting any lower than a grade 7. Thank you for taking your time and making these videos, I'll try to make sure to update you on the exam once I've done it. 🙏
@@OilRig-1 Hi, I think I done quite good actually. We were given the 2023 paper, which was on a hyena. I haven't got the results back yet (I'll update you once I have), but I' thinking I will get a grade 7. 🤞🤞
@@itxcrazybear5432 ive got my gcse exams this month, i remember doing the life of pi 2023 past paper for my mocks. Im terrible at eng lang tho but i really want atleast a 7
6 days to go before the paper 1 and i have never been so worried before! I came from Ukraine to study in Year 11 here and to find some college in the future. I knew english quite good before i came here and it was only a huge benefit for me. I impressed my math and science teacher and did quite well in my mocks almost at all subjects. But a thing is that they put me to a very very horrible english teacher. She is a total failure and didn't teach me anything valuable. Unfortunately, I got it too late so I had no chance to change the teacher. Now I am not prepeared to do my language exam. On creative writing i got 37/40 marks and 57 in total, but still the examiner can be really strict, so I need to make sure that I know at least something. Your video is my salvation as I learned more in 35 minutes than since September last year. Thank you!
omg, you explain so nicely, could you tell us specifically what the question is about like write a summary or petal paragraph. Certainly one of the beast
I have my year 10 mocks coming up and this is extremely helpful for me. Your way of explaining in depth really helps me build a more perceptive understanding when analysing! Thank youuuu
@First Rate Tutors, In regards to memorising quotes for english literature, how many per character should i memorise? And should I memorise in-depth analysis for them (Like you do in your course in the TOP 5 quotes for Macbeth as an example)
hi I'm not first rate tutors but I would say 5 for each character should be enough to revise and yes memorising analysis would be more helpful as it would make the exam easier when writing your essay but even if you don't remember the analysis, you can just talk about the key words in the quote, talk about symbolism, connotations, language and structural devices, the deeper meaning + alternative interpretations, writers intention and readers reaction and link to context you should know!
Hi maam I have done masters in English literature and linguistics and I have extensive experience in teaching English to. I want to take up English in GCSE so I want to have your guidance related to preparing myself to teach it in a more prolific manner. I shall be greatly indebted to you if you could share some help in this regard.
This video was really helpful thank you i have a question with the time am given in the exam is it possible for me to read the whole of the passage highlighting from start to end or i be highlighting as l progress
Hi I watched your video all the way till 45 minutes. I'm currently an entry level student with a bit of learning disabilities and I was kind of struggling to understand what you meant with the paragraphs and I want to ask is that normal for me to struggle to understand?
In my opinion, your first paragraph should compare something from the beginning vs something from either the middle or the end. In the SAME paragraph. This is also security in case you run out of time - you have one paragraph that's compared two parts of the extract... and if you have more time, then add another paragraph.
