Now that java 11 is already here, do you recommend make the OCA/OCP for java 8, or wait a little to make the exam certification for java 11? BTW great video, you explain very well!
Hi Pablo Thanks for watching ! I am glad that you liked it! I recommend you get your Java 8 certification since many companies are using Java 8 and they will be using it for the next few years. You can simply look into the differences and be familiar with the things that have changed. BTW this is my personal opinion and it is completely up to you. You can't go wrong with being a certified Java developer. Good luck Siamak
@@CodeEngine We are in 2021, the next LTS version of Java will come out in September/2021. (Java 17) Is it still valid to get Java 8 certified? Thank you.
Hi, Java 8 is everywhere. Companies are still using Java 8. The newer versions have added more features but Java 8 is still a valuable certification. Best Siamak
FYI, for the new certification, "Oracle Certified Professional Java SE 11 Developer" you need to pass two exams and there is no longer an intermediate "Oracle Certified Associate" credential awarded. Refer to this PDF for details: www.oracle.com/a/ocom/docs/dc/ou-5021-java-se11-faq-4.pdf
Hello, thx for the brilliant Video. congrats for your great victory in the exam. Can I ask you a questions? 1) How long do you take from the 'first day(including the textbook read start)' of preparation until 'the last day' of it(include the day of the exam)? 2) Did take the exam 'immediately after, the last day of your preparation or did you took same rest before the exam, in order to relieve the preparation-stress? 3) How many 'hours per day (average)' you dedicated for studies? 4) How many days, per a week, did you usually studied? 5) What was your experience, as Java developer, before this exam ? 6) Did you have any previous Java certifications? Sorry for the amount of questions. Thanks
Hi, thanks for sharing this information! I just had one question: how much harder is OCP in comparison with OCA? Is the gap considerable to make you feel like OCA was a piece of cake? Or was it pretty much the same, with only a little more complexity?
Hi Sushant, You are very welcome! OCP is much harder than OCA however the gap is not huge. On a scale of one to ten, OCA is 6 and OCP is 10 Best Siamak
Thank you for sharing valuable information, I have one question my employer is asking to complet the OCP certification ,is it mandatory to take the OCA before taking OCP exam?. You have any link or documents to prepare for this exam.
Hi Chetan, You are very welcome! You need to take the OCA exam and pass it first before taking the OCP exam. Please see the following link : education.oracle.com/oracle-certified-professional-java-se-8-programmer/trackp_357 Best Siamak
Maybe overlay the title concept when you introduce it. It sounded like you said Perler Streams instead of Parallel Streams. Excellent overview. I'm going to watch the OCA one next.
@@stanleyalfred5076 I'm not complaining. It was in the mind of trying to be helpful from a viewer's perspective. I'm northern USA so southern accents get me sometimes. So its not about accents. Its about clarity. I thought I would TRY to be helpful.
Exam Number: 1Z0-813 OCPJP 8 Upgrade from Java 6 or prior versions.. Is it very different from OCP (1ZO-809 Exam) ? Can you please share the syllabus or any links to the books or tutotials for the same ?
Siamak, two questions: 1. Is the raw and/or percent score reported to you? 2. Is the raw and/or percent score reported on the credential that you share with employers?
@@CodeEngine Thanks, Siamak. But is this report able to be seen by those who look up the credential (like employers)? Or do they just see that you have the credential (much like AWS certifications).
Thanks for sharing useful information about OCP java se8 exam. My question here is, is it mandatory to take OCA before taking OCP? I am planning to prepare for OCP exam but I don't have OCA. Is OCA a prerequisite for OCP? Please give me a clear answer. My employer wants me to get OCP certification but I don't have OCA. I am really confused which one to take.
Hi Kris, You are very welcome! You need to take the OCA exam and pass it first before taking the OCP exam. Please see the following link : education.oracle.com/oracle-certified-professional-java-se-8-programmer/trackp_357 Best Siamak
Hi Pooja, Maybe a little bit more time but it really depends on your background and experience. If Java is your primary role and you write production level code it is probably enough. This is not an easy exam and it is expensive. I hope this helps Best Siamak
Hi Ritika, It really depends on your experience with Java. This is not an easy exam. I would say 3-4 months of daily study and practice for someone with Java experience. Best Siamak
