I recently helped a friend patch and cover her metal siding for her house. Check out the process to fix and fill the hole, match the paint, and eventually also cover the area with a house numbers sign!

Great job. Might get a moving blanket from Harbor Freight for cheap to protect your dining room table? Also use under the saw to collect a majority of the saw dust. Of course a vacuum on the back of the saw works too.

That's awesome! There will be people saying, "You went to Michael's to get paint?!?!?" Looks good, works. What difference does it make. My guess is you are going to go into labor mid video and we'll get some kind of weird birth/"How to fix a gas stove" video.

Great work, looks wonderful ! 1. Is the number frame just hanging there? Or did you secure in another way for super windy days? 2. I live in AZ & my South facing, painted wood sign looks cracked after a few years. Even the black metal numbers need a little paint sometimes. Many neighbors use ceramic tile sign/numbers that seem to last with the punishing heat. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's hanging on a heavy duty wire very tightly to the siding. It was hard to get on and I'd be very surprised if wind took it off. As for unrelenting sun, I'd say your best bet is to make a stained sign, seal with varnish, and you might just have to re-stain regularly to maintain the color. Most paint does not tolerate 100 + degrees and will crack but stain should only fade. The do make high heat paint in a spray can you could try? Good luck!

I have aluminum siding that needs a patch. (It actually looks almost the same color as the house you worked on.) Can you explain how you mixed the paint.. did you mix all 4 of those paints together?

nice work - my only suggestion would be eye protection when using a saw and a proper respirator when doing paint/poly work, especially indoors. things happen, be careful. great video tyvm

I know you weren't cutting with your arm crossed over the saw blade, but its best to never ever get into the habit of doing that. I just takes a split second distraction. Also you shouldn't wear rings when working with circular saw blades. Sorry for the nanny comment. Just looking out for a fellow craftsman. :)

That siding stuff doesn’t last long and the back will start rotting right away since it’s exposed osb. Really I’ve seen builders use it for corners and 5-10 years is best I’ve seen it last

How to repair siding? Take it down and throw it in the skip. Siding is ugly and makes houses look like trailer homes. Use masonry to build proper houses that don't get blown from one state to another when a tornado hits. Apply external render , instead of these cheap siding. Sorry, yankees, but your houses are glorified sheds, that's all. Just saying.
