I noticed that the breakdown of my Shopify Sales Tax include local tax for San Francisco and other cities including County District tax. Are all those included in the Sales Tax that I have to remit to CDTFA or do I have to track and remit those separately to their respective cities? Thanks.

For sales tax from included sales report, i am not selling directly to buyer. I am using sites like ebay to sell and i dont collect tax from buyers. Ebay already does that on its own. So i put $0 for sales tax right?

I sell on etsy, and since they remit sales tax already do I still have to file sales tax myself? Do I just have to report out how much I made in sales on cdtfa, and not actually pay the sales tax?
Hey, this is a response I got from Etsy support regarding Etsy sales tax "On your tax returns you will only need to note that it was collected by a third party. The state is aware that online marketplaces like Etsy are remitting the tax for sellers"

Just out of curiosity people can choose to pay their taxes quarterly or just pay everything in one swoop during tax season right and at the end of the day it still comes out to the same amount?
This is sales tax, so tax season does not apply for this - it is not income taxes and is in a different camp altogether. You must pay on the CDTFA's reporting schedule assigned to you or accrue penalties and interest.
How about if Amazon collects taxes for you? I’m in CA too. Do you have a video on how to file quarterly reports if I don’t collect sales tax but Amazon does on my sales? Thank you!!
If Amazon is acting as a marketplace faciliattor and collecting/remitting the sales tax, then you would file your rerun with $0 in sales since Amazon made the sales, not you
In the drop down for city I cannot find "San Pedro" or "San Diego". One of my buyers bought my item online from San Diego county and City but for the city drop down I only see "San diego county - unincorporated". I don't even know if I should select that.
You are still obligated to pay sales tax because you are selling to consumers. What you should do instead is fine vendors that sell wholesale (no sales tax) to you as a retailer.
@@ginnysilver Thank you for your reply. I had not had my resale set up yet with the vendor. Does that tax paid not count? It used to be that it would be deducted as tax paid.

Under the account page, the period I'm trying to file for is blank after the $0.00 (unlike 2:02 in the video). I was wondering if this was because the period hasn't ended yet and was also wondering when returns are available for filing?
Omg, I keep getting letters from CDTFA saying I owe money for sales.that occurs many years prior . I'm tired of it. They don't explain for what is the worst part.
Depending on where you sale was made, different cities/counties can have an additional district sales tax on top of the state rate. Sales tax = the state rate + any district tax.
