For the side dat isn't going to reduce the length of the front dress?

Obviously the front waist is longer than the back waist, and that will make the front pattern longer during drafting, but once you put the side dart and stitch up the side dart, it will make the length of the front equal to that of the back pattern.

I either use the sewing allowance I left while cutting to close up the side seams or I divide each round measurements by 2 and I will get the midpoint of what I got on my tape measure and go ahead to place it on the cb/center of the zip to mark out on both sides… here’s a video to explain better what I just wrote👇🏽 Easy DIY: How to Shape a dress to fit Perfectly / Outfit fitting ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZbEr_bbI-yw.html I always get a perfect fit with either of these methods, and always make sure your measurements are correct 💯

Nice one💯, and Do iron and after ironing, measure the outfit from side to side..and it should correspond to the measurements you took…and this is the final stage before your client fits-in the outfit💯

You didn’t divide the knee contour by 2 evenly mine is 4.5 am I still just doing .5 on the back and 4 on the front?

So I got 2.5inches right, after which I subtracted the 1” I went in with on the center back( so 2.5 - 1 = 1.5”) , so since I’m left with 1.5” , I divide the 1.5 by 2 which gave me 0.75” and I marked the 0.75” on the both knee patterns as my contour…. So what did you get after calculating and subtracting the 1” you went in with on your center back???

The 3/8 you took by the side, is it a constant figure for all sizes?

The side dart is how many inches please?
@Whitney_IY
@Whitney_IY 10 месяцев назад
To get the side dart, simply subtract the back waist length from the front waist length OR You can simply use the general knowledge of “medium sizes uses 1.5inches as the side dart, while plus sizes uses 2inches as the side dart “
