Literally in class,in the truck as I’m about to do this drill. Watched this video then was able to attempt this no problem with only 1 pull up! THANK YOU!!!
I'm an old timer retired from 2 uniform services. I have a Class A for 30 years, and have a fever to go out and finally do what I always wanted to do. Need a refresher course first. These videos are helping me before starting my school. Thank you, I've really learned a lot!!
That was great except for the part where his front bumper took out that cone at which point the tester would stop you and have you pull up and do it again, and dock you points. At least in Oregon that's how it goes.
Great stuff man I'm @ this school in nc and the so called instructor is implementing far ti many stops turn burns and yerns when you just proved it doesn't take all that. Ty great man !!
I want to say thank you for these people who making this video thanks to this video I make my 90° angle in my parallel thank you God bless you I just passed I got my class a CDL 3 weeks ago thank you best video ever
I just witness serval mistakes that would have been an automatic fail on a real life road test. He didn't turn on the 4 way flashes and honk the horn before backing up, he also didn't get out to check where his trailer tailgate is angled. Both the Tractor and Trailer wasn't perfectly straight, there were more clearance on the right side. He should have did at least one pull up to the Right and then back up slowly. He also hit that cone if there was a Semi Truck there that would be an accident that just happened. The part where you explained when to turn the wheel amazed me, it was something most videos on RU-vid never mentioned. That was the most helpful tips. Thanks to you, I now have a better understanding when to turn the wheel and then 2 counts as you back in slowly.
With the exception of the cone, none of those are fails. This is for a CDL-A. You aren't required to get out of your truck to check clearances and you aren't required to do pull ups. Testers don't care about your 4-way flashers or you getting out of your truck to check for obstructions. Most employers won't have you do this on their road test.
@@easandov I think the 2 counts to the roll refers to when he straightened out the wheel..he only let it roll 2 secs then started turning the wheel all the way left.
Wow amazing. Can you do this video again in more detail. This is the best 90° backing I've seen. The other videos say they're 90 ° backing but they're really 45° backing.
In Ontario Canada on the real road test you can't hit any cones. It would most likely be an automatic fail, not points dock. They also score you on pull-ups, you're only allowed 2 or 3 pull-ups for both 90 degree angle and 45 degree angle and it must be completed in 10 minutes or under.
Literally failed my 90s today during my exam. I didn't care about the pullups because I had enough points to spare but I blew pass that back wall smh. Hopefully I get to test next week again
Drop a glove just past one extra space, like a 45 set up, that's your distance to line up the back of your trailer and make sure you are at least 4 ft away from the noseof any truck as you go down the lot at the DC, dock or parking lot to avoid trailer swing hitting another truck front end or trailer head
Hotshot parking, but I believe for an area with less forward boundary space, he's gonna need to start closer to the driver side boundary and maybe position the trailer at a small angle to initiate the jackknife so more room can be created for any tractor swivels or extra pullups.
You said 2 counts of the roll ? What’s that? Please repeat what you said clearly my next maneuver is the alley doc and I struggled with everything so far I need an easier approach to this. How much of the landing gear am I looking for exactly?
Learn pre trip inspection, straight line backing, offset backing, and 90 degree backing. Learn to shift a 10 speed transmission that’s all cdl schools show you to get ready to test for your cdl A license.
I thought this part of the test was pointless. Until I got a local job and the shipper I went to weekly had a tight spot to drop off your empty. Fence was on the right hand side and a fire hydrant a in front of the parking slip. Only way was to 90 degree.
Same with Ontario, Canada. The back of your trailer needs to basically pivot into the spot. By the time you can get straight with your trailer your are almost at the back cone.
After the narrator says “Straiten your wheels.” He then says I think “two something? Cannot make out his words. He then says. Turn left and backup. Does anyone know what is being said? If so please explain. Thanks. Great Alley Dock video. Easy!!!! Formula. Great job!!!
Hello my friend, I hope I did not bother you, can I get your driver's license and also obtain a work contract as a truck driver from one of the transportation companies in America, knowing that I live outside the United States, I hope for your help, thank you
@@emmanuelscott5804 if he was to test where I did they would of dinged him or failed him. He should of gotten out and looked. Well I didn't hit a cone because I would of GOAL
@@jamalmartin3062 THEN IT IS A BAD SCHOOL. BUT A SCHOOL WHO ALLOWS TWO POINTS TO RUN OVER A CONE REFLECTS EXACTLY THE BAD EDUCATION AND DRIVING HABITS WE SEE ON THE ROADS TODAY AND SHOULDN' T BE ALLOWED TO TRAIN IN THE FIRST PLACE. DOES YOUR COMPANY ALLOW U,TOO, TO HIT SOMETHING OR SOMEONE IN REAL TRUCKING LIFE? I DON' T THINK SO. USE COMMON SENSE, DAMN.
EXACTLY EVERYBODY WHO SAYS THIS IS A GOOD VIDEO HAS NO CLUE. THAT'S WHAT IT IS ABOUT ONE DOESN'T HIT ANYTHING AND GETS OUT OF THE CAB TO CHECK ITS SURROUNDINGS. WHY NOT TRYING THIS WITH REAL PARKED TRUCKS TO BOTH SIDES. THIS IS A FAIL. BAD TRAINING VIDEO. AND THAT IS EXACTLY, WHY SO MANY PARKING ACCIDENTS HAPPEN ON TRUCK STOPS.
@@jowyjozef COME ON CALL IT WHAT U WANT, IT IS A FAIL NO MATTER WHAT JUST FOR THE REASON THE DRIVER DIDN' T GET OUT TO CHECK ALONE IN ORDER TO SEE HOW CLOSE HE IS TO THE CONE. IN REAL LIFE ONE WOULD HAVE HIT THE HOOD OF ANOTHER TRUCK BECAUSE USUALLY ON MOST TRUCK STOPS U DON' T HAVE THAT MUCH ROOM IN ORDER TO SWING AROUND IN ONE JUMP. THAT IS A FACT. SO TRAIN PEOPLE REALISTICALLY.
That freaking cone won't be there at David. That's why no one cares. In the dmv alley dock that cone won't be there. It was there set up for a different maneuver.
