In this video tutorial, I’m going to show you how you can perform a simple linear regression test by using Microsoft Excel. Not only will I show you how to perform the linear regression, but I’ll show you how to analyse the outputs of the regression test.

Thank you Steven for this great tutorial video! It is so helpful. Meanwhile, would you pls. explain why only the C.i. of the slope is considered to calculate the C.I. of the estimated y value in most textbooks? There are two parameters (slope and intercept) in the regression equation, and both parameters have C.I. calculated, shouldn't we put both C.I. into the calculation to estimate the CI of the y? thanks!

Hello Steve, at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="413">6:53</a> area, I thought you would say you'd 'reject the null hypothesis', and not 'fail to reject the null hypothesis'. Possibly just a mix-up of words, but given that your p-value is less than alpha you would reject and not fail to reject.
