this week's easy photography tutorial video is loaded with tips and tricks on posing and lighting. we shot at volunteer park conservatory here in seattle, washington. everything was natural light. this video is all about how to photograph men/male models.

Ok so now I know how to finally record my screen ..😂😂😂 would you want me to make a video on how I edited this set of images? I usually don't edit like this...lighter and more airy..deff was specific for the location + lighting, so it wouldn't be really my traditional editing but I'd be more than happy to make an editing tutorial on this set !! Lmk your thoughts: this set or a more old skool one?

I mean i probably would've said 'you are perfectly gorgeous' to him million times if i were you. I died since i see him from the very first start. I LOVED this video. I've been taking pictures for a super long time but only recently have I started photographing people and it's a whole new realm for me. I've been photographing friends which is easy, but today I'll be photographing a girl I don't know too well I'm just nervous about making her uncomfortable/not knowing how to get my word across to make the session go smoothly. I love that this was filmed in a way that we saw the whole process. It was super encouraging to see that the way you handle things is similar to the way I do!

It's a great location! This video is from a few years ago. Now you will need a permit I believe to shoot there or to call to reserve the space. But it's so beautiful!

Hi Jessica, I'm loving your videos, they're full of energy and inspiration. I've managed to talk a male friend into modelling for me so I can do/practise a shoot similar to this. Do you have any tips or hints please? I'm nervous about doing the shoot as never photographed a male like this before and he's not a model so I guess he might be quite awkward about posing eeek! It's called Live Mode! Look at your camera manual and it'll show you where it's located!

when shooting with a really low aperture, how do you manage to get such minimum blur of the subject? I know it may sound like a dumb question, but I'm looking to get better

Hi Nate! I myself am learning the ropes so I hope you don't mind if I try to answer. I thought since you didn't have answer yet, I'd give it a shot! As far as I know, aperture, shutter speed and ISO are connected in that when you change one you have to compensate for that exposure with the other two. If you're shooting with narrow (large f-stop number) aperture, you can decrease/eliminate blurs by increasing the ISO and shooting at a really fast shutter speed to freeze the movement. I'm thinking since Jessica was in a well-lit area, shooting at a small f-stop wouldn't have caused too much motion blur.

i don't get why everyone online seems to be so obsessed with the settings xD like with everyones light situation, the settings will be different. as if one could just copy paste the settings and then just automatically get great exposures and depth of field separation xD also: man this dude would make a great good looking movie villain type character :D
