Lovely to see you treating these little creatures with such respect, and what lovely photos by being patient, thank you again Lee for giving me more ideas to try. I just love ladybirds (who doesn’t!)
Hello Ken thank you ever so much I really appreciate your kindness and support. I really do believe we need to look after our nature as it really does play a big part in our life.
I found a drowning ladybird in my garden that i rescued on the day that my macro lens arrived. So after i offered it a small stick to use to climb out of the water and then left it on a plant in the sun to dry. I filmed it while it spread its wings and wiped its face for a while. So i was lucky to have it in one spot for while. Hopefully i ll get a chance again now im more familiar with both camera and the new lens (just an old GH5 with an Olympus 60mm macro), though hopefully not one needing rescuing. I am Animator, but have recently started wildlife photography as a hobby after moving to the country on the south coast, and found your videos, which I wanted to say are inspiring me to try and come up with my own creative set ups like you.
Hello, I'm starting my adventure with macro photography and I want to ask you something. I've already learned a lot, and I really like your work and videos. I am photographing the A7 III and I have already ordered the lens: laowa ca-dreamer 100 mm f / 2.8 macro 2: 1. I would like to use Yongnuo YN24EX lamps, but there is nothing to the A7 III at this price. And one more question for the a7 III, which LAOWA lens would you choose?
Hi Lee great video as always, have you ever made a video about Preying Mantis photography. I've seen the excellent mantis picture on your website, and although I searched I can't find a video. Stay safe Geoff
This is a great video Lee, many thanks. I am gradually working my way through your videos & enjoying everyone. i have already learnt so much from you, Many thanks my Friend
When using in-camera focus bracketing and stacking, and flash, should I be using electronic or mechanical shutter? How is it possible for the flash to keep up with the bracketing? Many thanks for your valued response!
Best macro photographer on youtube 😊 nothings scripted, when you talk Lee you stumble on your words sometimes but you get across what your trying to say and that makes you a real person 😊 your enthusiasm and love for all creatures to make sure they are not harmed is something to be admired, keep up the great videos 😊 us your subscribers learn something new all the time, take care and be safe 📷📷 best wishes from Scotland.
Wow thank you ever so much David. I do my best to help everyone and love nature I have learnt so much from nature over the years and it has helped me so much with my mental health. I think its best to just say it how it is a lot of you tubers editing so much out and it's just falls
Hi my friend sorry for the Late response. I have been battling with my mental health at the moment but I will be back I promise. The diffuser I use are from craft bells. Australian photography products. I think I put a link in the description if not I will try and had a link for you.
Good day my friend I never thought abut using honey to distract the ladybug you have just given me a good idea to try in the summer thank you ever so much
love your Macro videos Lee, one thing i do like are your backgrounds and the colours, are doing them in editing or are you using different colour background cards
I want to say thanks for making the videos even though you are hurt and can't move around easily. That is my problem. I can't hardly bend at all. Standing is difficult and everything about trying to take photographs is so much harder when you can't bend or move around easily.
Thank you Teresa I really appreciate your kindness and support. I started my channel off to help people that struggle with movement to show that we can all still do great photography and enjoy ourselves at the same time. I am so glad you are enjoying my videos and hopefully there helping you 🙏🙏
He Lee I did some macro shots of ladybirds last year. It was easy. They didn’t move. Then I saw they were artificial & put on the leaf at the flower shop. Is there hope for me as a macro photographer 😂😂😂 Can’t believe how well you look now compared with last year. So pleased for you. Greetings from Melbourne in lockdown 5.0
Hello my friend I can't tell you Mrs H has taken pictures of artificial birds before I did then take her for a eye test lol. Thank you ever so much for your kindness and support and hopefully I will be visiting Australia next year woop woop
Just goes to show Lee whether your going out to photograph a Buffalo or a Beetle a bit of planning beforehand makes all the difference - very nicely composed shots. Hope everything goes well on the health front mate.👍
Thank Glenn it really does make a lot of difference in every type of photography I found that out very quickly when I started mate. I am just waiting for a ct scan to see what is going on. I just wish it was quicker
Much respect for ethics considering the insects. Interesting that you call them Ladybirds, in Canada we call them Ladybugs. Thanks so much for the excellent lesson.
Great video Lee! I’ve taken numerous high magnification, stacked shots before where “staging” is necessary but capturing wildlife in their natural environment is so much more satisfying for sure! Looking forward to checking out more content from you! Cheers😊 p.s that frame at 15:30 is beautiful!
