Hi Scott, thank you so much for your tutorials. New subbie here. I have one question, how do you attached pinched pleat draperies to the rod? I did not see any rod pockets being made. Thank you so much!

Question, if you please - when you calculate to pleat spacing, shouldn't the overlap per panel be the orignal 4 inches divided by 2 panels? Otherwise, you would end up with 36 inches of finished hanging draperies, if my math is correct.

I know that would sound logical but it doesn’t work that way! The reason you need a 4” overlap is to accommodate the master carrier on a traverse rod and it also looks better having a 4” space on the leading edge. Although you have a 4” overlap only 2” actually overlap the drapery panels. It is very confusing but the math is correct!

I have a rod with 3” overlap and 3.5” return. If I start the first pleat at 3” won’t the pleat touch each other when closed? I could do 4” return the rod can be lengthen. But if I do a 4” overlap will it fit on the rod correctly that has a 3” overlap? I stared with 120.5” rod added 12” then found out overlap was 3” so added 13” to the rod for 133.5 My fabric width was120” plus another 60”. Finished hemmed width 164.5”. I’m concerned if I do the returns and overlap at 3 1/2”. And 3” start pleat from center it won’t look good if the pleats are touching when closed. If I do 4” at overlap it won’t fit correctly on the rod with 3” overlap. Help got everything done up to the pleating and don’t want to mess up. Thank you for your help.
