I have these and have to say I don’t agree some hard standing are very very hard a good rock peg with the proper hammer, a heavy mallet and it is so much easier to let the mallet do the job. Love the videos. James
Someone else mentioned similar and said these pegs work better with an impact driver rather than a standard drill so will it a try sometime and compare. Also something very satisfying about using a mallet 😁👍
That's good to know it works, we haven't bought any standard rock pegs so may get some incase the drill goes flat when we are off grid - thanks Steven 🥰
Great and handy tip, not sure about the "no more swearing" though as you still need to get the awning / drive away kit in the channel and that always ends in swearing 😂😂. Our hound is also just as unimpressed with cordless drills, she barks at them 🙈. Hope you had a great trip BTW 👍
I do like the look of those pegs. First trip away with our awning in a couple of weeks and have booked a hard standing pitch. I have rock pegs but may have to upgrade to these. Thanks for sharing 👍
This was interesting as I didn’t know the difference between the screw rock pegs and the normal ones when I brought ours so I brought ones without a thread 😂 must admit even without a thread they are revolutionary 😊
Screw pegs changed our camping 🏕️😂 This is why we carry a drill too, you asked some time ago and we said there was a video coming soon just it looks a bit longer than planned 😂😂😂
Hi guys those pegs are definitely on our list of essentials 👍🏻you need to invest in an impact driver Ian we use them at work drive screws in effortlessly looking forward to your European footage
Cheers Tim, will take a look at them sounds like something we need 😁👍 Hoping the footage we captured does the trip justice, if everything goes to plan the first part should be released on Friday 😁
Damn good tip... beautifully demonstrated with both assistants quietly in attendance! Excellent. Duly learned and marked!! Thank you. Does Molly get to chew on any of the orange bits.... they'd be great if she.'s get toothache!
thanks for that, I had not heard of this type of pegs. Co-incidentally I walked into our local Aldi this week and a very same looking box was in the camping section for £7.99 so I bought it. Lets hope its the end to all of my awning peg problems!
Thanks Malcolm, had a quick search online and that does sounds like a good option, will take a look and price one up as the drill has struggled a couple of times especially when the ground is rocky and dry! Presume they are a similar size and weight to a cordless drill so great tip thank you 😁👍
Took my big Dewalt impact to France this year excellent for the dry ground in Brittany worked a treat sounds the part as well! I’m pretty sure I could have used it to undo the wheel nuts As well if needed, so this would be my number one thing… mind you we have a karacher vac really handy as well to remove excess water on a wet awning before packing away. Great channel, My missus found you guys keep up the great content
Ah thanks Malcolm that sounds ideal will check it out, can never have too many camping gadgets 😁👍 Love the idea of using the Karcher on the awning when wet! Great tip thanks will give that a try too and thanks for your comments 🥰
OMG! That looks SO satisfying! And now I know what those odd looking pegs are for too! Next time i am shopping they are going in the basket! Thanks guys :-)
Completely agree Mark, we thought exactly the same as you 🥰 We've camped for many years including up actual mountains, in thick snow at -7c and never had any issues plus we like a peaceful campsite very much (Altnahara as an example...) but one time could not get the pegs in no matter how hard we bashed 😂 a friend who has a caravan recommended these pegs and the drill so we tried it and works a treat. Actually less noise overall than the bashing of the mallet on the rock pegs and it's similar in noise to the caravaner's winding their legs out 😎 Appreciate not for everyone but works for us 😁👍
