No lie I was watching PK guides all day: and then you drop this today. Most clear, concise, complete, and well narrated video my man. Best PK guide for anyone from noob to Grandmaster.
As someone who's never pk'd, learning it is hard af. Like the hardest thing I ever had to learn in gaming haha. Properly switching gear, brewing, switching to spec, while switching prayer in between all of this madness whilst clicking with near perfect accuracy at high rate of speed requires so much brain power lol. Only takes one misclick, accidentally equipping the wrong gear which throws everything off. My brain just shuts off and i gotta double check my gear, double check my prayer, double check my opponent, and next thing ya know my health is at 20hp and im desperately tryna double/triple eat lol. Learning PK is so hard because so much of it is muscle memory. If you don't have that muscle memory, and have to really think about your every single move, it's hard to stay motivated to continue whilst sucking so bad. Right now i literally practice gear switches, prayer switches, and getting used to hotkeys against sandcrabs. Its not even worth it at the moment to train against actual players. I'm pking sandcrabs, I'm down bad 😂
(DISREGARD, I’m an idiot) I don’t like to use divine potions when pre-potting because if you brew it gets rid of the boost, and then you use a regular scb or ranging potion, it will remove that boost once the original divine boost is over (after 5 minutes). So you could be boosted trying to get momentum, and then out of nowhere your boost is gone without brewing. Just a tid bit.
Great guide otherwise Greg. I love that you’re doing this and potentially an intermediate and Pro guide as well. Pking needs more attention than it has. It’s the core of RS and more people should be at least trying to learn how to do it.
Thats what the Menaphite Remedy is for. And that's why you divine pot after the remedy. Read the wiki. Also if your fights are lasting longer than your 5 min divine; in this meta; you're staying too long.
@@350dpi ohhhh interesting, I never knew that. I thought it just restored stats. Thanks for the info! Disregard my comment everyone lol. (Btw, I tend to afk after I hop worlds sometimes up to a couple minutes, not that my fights are 5 minutes+)
Good vid greg i killed a pure that attacked me at revs it was only 138k key but because he said gg when he died i went to g.e and gave him 1m cash because he was new and had repect and i do this every time
Few questions: - What tick do you choose your attack style? Eg are you always waiting till the last tick, being reactive to his overheads, then Insta gear + piety/rigour switch? Or do you decide attack style say 2 ticks before camping rigour, then just faking until going back to range (predetermined) - Do you prefer to attack on the same or different tick as the enemy? Eg switching to tank doesn’t help in this scenario. Do you ever intentionally delay an attack by a tick for a better chance of catching the enemy off prayer? Great guide Greg. Clear concise examples. Cheers
should have mentioned you can remap f keys to your 1,2,3,4 buttons or any bind for people who dont have f keys on keyboard or for people who prefer 1,2,3,4 from other games
That also brother but there will be 2 more videos on this. Starting of with beginners , intermediate and then pros if you know what I mean , but that is a great suggestion mate.
you can toggle bottle smasher in settings too. great video, the only thing id personally want is maybe a video on more gear setups? I've been pking in the 5mil set for about a month now, still just learning and getting better but is the next jump like a 30m setup with ahrims n all that? is it worth it to add a couple more mil to the risk or are the upgrades not really necessary until youre comfortable enough to risk alot more?
I actually feel bad for people who pvm and need guides like this, when I started rs I had a choice to learn to ok or pvm and I’m sooooo glad I chose to pk, if you’re a good pker you can be a good pvmer but it’s not vice versa, pvmers are used to a pattern/routine to defeat the npc, pking is different every fight
Sorry, brotha, but idk about this one. I can't see someone who is clueless with NHing watching this and going out with confidence. It's all over the place, and you jump from one thing to the next that has nothing to do with each other. No mention of staff flicks. No mention of Augury flicks. No mention of fakies. Fight me if you want, but divines are not the play for prepotting. What about brew-blitzing? You told people to try to catch the freeze for the escape around 9 seconds left on your freeze Ok... What if they're 7+ tiles away? If you freeze at 9 seconds when you're 7 tiles away, you will not get the log. What about max distancing? It's important to understand max distance for offense as well as escaping, so you don't break the freeze. The power of defensive gear is huge for beginners. No mention. What are some good +1s?
I hear you points and I completely agree with you, but like say getting a new person pking to flick augury and staff will just completely mess them up, as I said I will be doing more videos on pking guides , this is just for beginners to understand the basics.
