Poor Dimpy, I knew even when she was young that she would be a good mom because she was so good with her younger siblings, but she definitely drew the short straw with Riy.🥴 It’s hard for most anyone to be patient with her, even if she gets what she wants she’s constantly crying. I’d nominate Dimpy for sainthood.😂
Riy is several weeks older than Dipidy so it stands to reason that she should be farther along in the weaning process. For some reason Reddy is almost always one of the last to deliver her infant every season.
The best thing about weaning is the moms get some time alone . Then the juveniles get some mom time . The babies have got whatever they wanted up to this point . The moms need to start letting them know it’s grow up time
You've got to love Reddy and her family, one of the best on Monkey Hill! Been watching her as her family has grown, from the time when Dopey was born. I always look forward to seeing her and her family. The thumb sucking, oh my, its amazing to see how they grow into their different personalities. Thank you Arroz! ❤❤❤❤❤❤💓❤❤❤❤❤❤❣🐒🐵
I think Rye has worne everyone out. And now its nap time. I love their little tantrums and they run and hide in the branches of a tree. And our little Deenly, of my, she finds her own contentment in her thumb. thank you for another great video!!
Another Fabulous viewing as always. All the babies are wonderful & different with my favorites being Didy & Gigi, but so many beautiful stories from them all. Reddy also stands out as being special. Thank-you for sharing these precious moments with us!
Riy was a tough and hard to handle baby. Especially, for a first time, inexperienced mother like Dimpy. I think Dimpy did a great job with her. It's unfortunate we never got to see her grow up.
If I saw Deenly on a random channel and I didn’t know who her mom was I would almost believe that she was an ex pet that had been dropped off and eventually accepted by the troop.
Was watching Monkey Inc and I believe Nora has had a baby this year and it is sad to say she is still acting like she doesn’t know what to do with her baby
Reddy seems like she has a headache. She keeps touching that little wound on her head and then slides her hand over her face as though she's in pain. Poor girl. Riy isn't helping with her temper tantrum. Things will get better. I wonder if there's a plant there that has some kind of pain killer in it . Reddy sure could use it.
I think Dimpy's doing great being a mum to a girl like Riy. I might be wrong but those who have become mothers the later years are more relaxed as mothers than older mums but they too have become softer and act differently thank earlier. I guess it has to do with all the feeding. 🤓🇸🇪
@M L the only difference I have noticed it that Dimpy is rougher than Reddy. Mind you, Reddy is definitely the exception when it comes to the babies lol no matter how naughty Dopey was she always had a gentle touch for him and really all her babies lol Sending care across the miles and hope you are having a great week
I've said many times the milk is one thing but she got little milk before she immediately went to sleep. She is on the cusp and is fighting it. Mom humored her but she is gonna be planted on her feet soon to forage and no milk no naps under moms protection and no being transported from place to place by mom. It is going from a safe place to one that's scary and hard. It's a hard time because she isn't a baby but not quite a juvenile yet. She has to learn and her mom is the kind that will push her away quickly. It's a very primal this even in humans to take their babies and envelope them in love and keep them safe but it won't be long at all
E-Gads! I seem to have fallen behind even farther than I thought! Go away for minute & All New Babies! Looks like I'll need to do some catching up here - Yeah, Monkey Overload!! 😂❤❤
That's true, & I think it would be worse, but Reddy groom's her and even holds her sometimes to let her know that she still loves her. She isn't a baby, but she hasn't been forgotten or thrown away. She still feels bad about it though. I don't think she would need to suck her thumb if she felt more secure about things. I hope she does better about it all when she grows up a little more.
Deenly seems to always be somewhat distressed. By the fact that she's weaned and cannot even utilize the dummy/pacifier aspect from mom Reddy. She's not as distresses as Scooby was. But the thumb sucking after this long I think is concerning.
Poor Huey! It’s not fair that he is being weaned early. I really dislike weaning time. I feel so bad for the babies. Poor Riy, my heart hurts for her. Thank you AM for 2 videos. Such beautiful animals.
I actually love watching the tantrums, not that I like that they suffer, I just find it adorable and know that it's necessary and ultimately good for the baby (monkeys who never wean end up being a bit pathetic and get no respect, e.g. Sweetpea).
@joeturner9280 yeah there's a difference whether it's someone causing severe emotional or physical harm, maiming them, locking them up malnourished in cages for most of the day, etc. VS a monkey pouting for milk and making faces when its mother reproves it.
Weaning is hard times both for babies and mothers. But thay are doing so well. In the end allmost all babies grow into eating as mum does. Love this beautiful video ❤
The boys all act like it’s a gas pump, then he’s throwing a temper tantrum. Anyway, he acts like all he has to do is walk right up. And start to feed anytime he feels like it!!
I've heard you say many times that none suck their fingers or selfsooth that is wild yet here is a half grown female that's sucking her thumb the whole time. Was she abandoned or just a irregularity? I'm always shocked that rhesus babies are such good climbers and very young. In other macaques such as the long and pig tail they have to be 4 or 5 mths old to be even this close to doing what these do at 1 to 2 mths old
Deenly is an exception, one in a few thousand to do so in my nearly 8 years of following these monkeys. It is even more perplexing as she has Reddy as her mother, one of the most loving mothers on monkey Hill. Deenly began thumsucking soon after weaning started, and she has it as a habit now. Long tailed babies climb just early too and they mature a year earlier than rhesus, but unfortunately the long tailed babies on RU-vid are mostly from Cambodia, or more precisely from Angkor where you don't get to see natural behaviour of them. Long tailed monkeys are supposed to be more arboreal ( they have evolved to have a slender body and an extremely long tail to aid living high up in trees ) but instead they are all fat globular couch potatoes instead in Angkor, waiting to be fed on the ground constantly.
I'm really surprised that peer pressure dictates nursing and weaning. I would think it was more an internal clock that at so many weeks you stop whether baby is thriving or needs more. Do the higher ranking care about the appearance of them extending their feedings? It also surprised me that Rys mom didn't follow in her own mother's footsteps. Usually this is where they learn how to care for their own young.
LoL.....Just makes me Laugh when I see Reddy tell her Kids NO...the Arm over the Nip Move!!!!! I Love Reddy...and her Kids...Denely has Won My Heart Though...something about her n her Thumb Sucking makes her So Cute!!!!!!!
Maybe but Riy is old enough to take care of herself for a while and Dimpy can always hear her😁. If something would happen to Riy I'm sure Dimpy would be by her side in a sec. 🤓🇸🇪
@@lorrainesmith4209 Hey, Lorraine! Be civil😁! It's my role to be the bitchy one with no tolerance for stupid on this channel. Pam actually asking a valid question. They do call for a babysitter from time to time and with all the sterilised females there's no shortage of them. There's also all baby crazy younger ones who hasn't had a baby themselves yet. It's a way for them to practice when that day comes. There's also protective brothers Burt not so often. 🤓🇸🇪
Grandma was busy feeding her baby that is the same age. Mom might have slowed milk or cracks in her nip. They think that big fits and crying gets them milk.
I already left a comment about Riy. It seems it's really not about weaning with her. It's about being held and cuddled. Also, don't forget that these animals sleep high in the tress at night. Obviously, Dimpy like Reddy hold their babies to keep warm and no doubt are allowed to suckle. So, it's not like Riy is somewhat neglected. Just my opinion...
@@thestorysofar JW has a video with an adult monkey sucking her tumb and she was even the matriarch of a small troop ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WUcmFyYWf7g.html
In my opinion Dimpy actually is a good mother. She does everything right. Riy must be weened and if she didn't put up limits to the milk Riy will take advantage of it. I do agree with you about becoming a mother at four is at least one year to soon. 🤓🇸🇪 🤓🇸🇪
Dipity is showing off for you, Arroz. Too bad you couldn't slip him a few beans.. haha. I wonder how long Deenly will be sucking her thumb. My sister did that for about 5 years..... ended up with a mole on the tip of her nose due to her picking at it while her thumb was in her mouth. I don't know why she sucked her thumb.... my mother doted on her. I can't understand why Deenly does it. Did the weaning process traumatize her that much? Maybe when she becomes a mama she'll stop???
The older they get their fits are getting old on everyone so the ignore the babies . Then they will realize that it’s time to quit throwing fits cause it don’t get them anywhere .
Riy's little mac attacks tug at my heart. In many ways she reminds me of Bossy Jr., but never more than when she faceplants on the pavement to pitch a milk fit. Unlike Reddy, Dimpy is just not having it and will wean her baby on her own terms. And darling Deenly will go on placating herself by sucking her thumb. I wonder if that behavior will gradually stop when she starts having her own babies....time will tell.
Has Gypsy's daughter Krissy ever had a baby? I think she's either sterilized or infertile, but I thought I saw her nursing her own baby for a time maybe 3 years ago... could have died or been a male that was chased out of the troop, but more likely she can't have offspring.
Oooohhhh, Deenly. You make me so sad. I wish I could fix whatever it is that you need to still suck your thumb. I wish my magic wand wasn't broken. ❤❤❤ 😢😢😢 🎉🎉🎉
When AM first saw her sucking her thumb, he said it was unusual. Considering she has one the best Moms on Monkey Hill makes it more surprising. I wouldn't have been surprised to see one of Gypsy's babies doing that.
@@ebello2024 I think about Deenley, then I think about my friend's daughter who sucked two fingers. She did not suck her fingers at school, but as soon as she got home, she did. I think she was about 12/13 when she quit for good. She was an only child and totally doted on, but not spoiled. She has her Masters in psychology and is working on her PHD, so maybe Deenley just needs the extra comfort a while longer like my friend's daughter did.
What in Hades did those ears come from i this maybe a hybrid and this will nit go well with the big male sure never shuts up like Daniella she seal her fate
It's bad when monkeys act alot better ( even when having a tantrum) then alot of children these days Parents are to blane with that "time out" routine 🇺🇲🦅🌎⚓ USMC
Most parents use a variety of techniques, depending on the child. Time out worked wonders for our son because he hated to lose his audience!😅 He’s grown into an incredible man. ❤
a monkey was embarresd because she feed her kid? way , way she is embaressed i dont understand man ! i dont think that animals cares so much for there immage like people sr. thank you . anyway, i like your vedeos .
Wow, Dimpy has great instincts and unlike a lot of first time mothers she's not allowing Riy to call the shots. Dimpy definitely let's Riy know that mom is the boss and Riy had better respect that.🤣🤣🤣🤣 She's definitely sterner then her mother Reddy.
Aww Riy bless her heart. If she does have some kind of emotional problems like ADHD she wouldn’t be getting any type of help but could get killed by the crying that she is doing by annoying another monkey..I hope not.. Just sad that nothing can be done for her. I just wish , which I know there isn’t but it would be nice to be able to take care of her . Anything is better where she is at and she ends up getting killed. Which broke my heart.. I love animals especially the babies so it is hard not to do anything but wanting her to get the care that she needs and there would not be an answer or helping her. Might make a male mad and attack her by all the noise she is making
As far as I know, a baby doesn't get killed by crying or pulling off a tantrum. It doesn't happen in the wild and if any member tries to do so, almost everyone in a troop will spring into action to protect the baby.
@@thestorysofar I hope not.. That is good to hear.. These babies are so cute.. I would love to have your job . Watching them , be close to them and their babies… Being there to see them I would be in heaven…
Hey everyone ❤️❤️❤️ Dang...3:12 Deenly still sucking that thumb. Poor Dimpy, she has her hands full with Riy. She's that baby that you want to reach through to Hong Kong and thump her one good time on the nose and tell her to cool it and give her mom a break...jeezzzzz.
