If it were possible to place tilted structures in ARK it would open up a whole new world of possibilities! Well guess what? You can! All it takes is a bit of good old fatdog snap point magic!

After making this video I learned that there's also a little trick you can do with the new S+ beta structures to get wonky angles but I'm expecting it to get patched before being sent to the masses. And for those of you moaning that I didn't show how to make the archway, use your brain, go work it out, I showed everything you need, or go build something completely different, use a bit of creativity.

HOC Acid for double force fields you just have to have you and your friend place them at the exact same time, it’s kinda hard and may take a few tries but at least you can pick them up if it doesn’t work the first time

Once again captain you've blown my mind. When I return to Ark I'll be doing extensive experimentation with both this & the floating floors trick. I had done some walls on an angle on a raft with the fence foundations but had no idea how to recreate that on land, thank you. I've not been able to build since the triangle pieces were promised for console. Any build I'm working on when that hits would be instantly abandoned so I can't get motivated till that update hits. I can't wait to see what you do with those fancy triangles lol

I just hope they don't patch these methods out, I found how to teleport rafts into the sky to then build a floating house & they patched it out within a month. The technique only worked in a private game as it exploited the bubble teleporting other players upon the host respawning. In hindsight I was dumb to enter the flying house into the community crunch & bring it to their attention (I thought they wanted to see creative stuff) lol

I have long been thinking about attempting a dome but I've not been brave enough. Maybe the new triangle pieces will help. Thanks Shwigit.

@@captainfatdog AAAHHH! That makes me kinda wish that we were on the same platform; i've been entertaining ideas on how to build a dome for quite awhile now too. I'm thinking with a circle template and this idea that it could be done although I think that adding the process we used for the tree spiral stairs could be the missing piece...

@@theshwigitshow6210 It can be pretty painful trying to do this method on that level. I made a floating sideways circle where each piece had to be placed individually using that flicking snap point, it wasn't fun. I'm sure a dome is possible, it's just figuring out the easiest way.

Another amazing video, surely a world of possibilities opened up from it. I'm the person who was asking you about pillar support in the lake next to Island red ob a bit back lol. Managed to do it, some ceilings used too. Built a platform above and going to build a 'floating' castle, as the water is murky so you can't see the messy supports. Using bits of your other vids for the castle too. And now I'm like dammit, should I do something with this video! Haha.

When you move the raft or when it gets destroyed, does the archway move or break? Anyway, really cool video. This will be so helpful for my round base, thinking of making like a dome with 4 halls in each direction, this will look pretty cool. Keep up the good work dude!

Yes you can get any angle you want by free-placing fence foundations on the side of pillars.

A problem arises - the foundation is attached to the column, but not from the side, but from the bottom. What could be the problem besides my crooked hands? P.S. yea, it's my crooked hands... All working! P.S.2. But will it be possible to do this over water? Well, like 2 rafts and put a foundation between them so that the building is above the water?

Could you use this to place a doorframe horizontally? Like imagine having a staircase and instead of a vertical door at the top/bottom, having a horizontal tek door as a floor to open as you descend the stairs?

im trying to do a floating tilted cube on top of a spike in valguero , im using the quetzal platform saddle and i kinda get how it works , the one problem i have is that whenever i destroy the platfrom thats on my quetz everything else will get destroyed as well .. any way around this or should i just leave the quetz with the platform on it ?

@@DarkShadow_23 I play on Xbox. I don't know why it snaps when it's red in this situation but it does. Sometimes you have to try it from different angles or ever replace the raft. The arch was a lot of trial and error to be honest, it took a long time and I don't really fancy rebuilding it I'm afraid. All the techniques to build it are shown in this video though.

So i was gonna try some new things...def got a idea for a crazy build but i cant transfer off of platforms. I change tue angle and attempt but it either snaps to foundation or ceiling on the raft or quetz and wont met me get it off... So is it patched??

I can get the sloped ceiling to float but after that I cant put a pillar on it that's sloped or will even snap to the floating ceiling now on land

You should be able to. Just try looking in different places, sometimes it's a bit dodgy.

It was recorded on xbox. Then snap like that on platforms only.

It's not been patched, you might just have your fence foundation positioned different or your pillar on a different snap point.

i managed to get the 45 degree pillars&foundatins, but do you have a solution for getting "ground contact" for ceilings placed on sloped wall corner pieces afterwards?! and i just dont get the horizontal pillars to work! but other then that ....soooo many possibilitys, its great! official pve, btw

Do you plan on making a video on the Tek Bridge? A lot of people don't seem to know you can place it on pillars (if you have one pillar that is taller right next to the pillar you put it on, so you can place it anywhere you can place a pillar, including your base ceiling).

The foundation should be clipping into the raft or it won't place. You might have the pillar too high or something.

Build a ladder off it, and climb it, the game can't make you climb sideways so you go straight up next to your ladder, and fire also burns straight when on a tilted floor lol

Yeah, it's great fun messing about with stuff like that. Try demolishing the ladder while you are on it then go into orbit cam.

I mean on map like extinction is it possible on land to do ? Tryied on SS mod and vanilla game stuctures and didnt work, the fence foundation can be placed only flat not on angle idk - game on PC

@@snaggedpigeon740Quetzals can make it a bit wonky. Rafts are nice and flat but you need to be near water. A skiff landed on a flat surface is good but hard to get.
