Beautiful results! Our wedding (14 years ago) was also on a budget, & like you, Michaels & their coupons were our friends. We also used silk flowers & LOTS of tulle, & it turned out beautifully. No reason why you can't have a beautiful wedding on a budget!

My dear baby sister got married a few weeks ago and I just wanted to let you know that this video was a life saver for me! She realised she needed a director, like 8 weeks before, and asked me to be that person on her big day! I loved it! And it freaked me out! :) first thing I did was creating a to do list, a check list, a time line for the day. And this video helped me a lot, I could put some to check and to do things on my list after I watched this video. They had a tight budget but I had plenty of room to master my DIY skills! You must know, Im all about planners and structure in my life. I have a feeling that came in handy for this job! Thanks Nikki, you did a great job on their wedding and helped me a lot with this one! Your son and daughter in law are so lucky to have you to plan and decorate their wedding for them. I don't have such luxury plus I am on a budget (so hiring someone is out of the question) and I want things a particular way. It's less than 5 months till my wedding and some days I don't feel like having to do any wedding planning or even thing about it but I know it will bite me in the behind if I leave everything to the last minute. Don't get me wrong... I love planning but its just overwhelming.

My husband and I made CDs of all the music for our wedding but what was so special is we asked all our guests to provide us with a piece of music to add to the play list. It made for an interesting and eclectic mix which was very personal to our loved ones and us ☺

So beautiful and lovingly done! I would like to speak up for a traditional and affordable reception. This used to be known as a Cake and Punch reception. Often, church social halls make a wonderful place to hold the reception, people don't have to change locations. Typically, wedding cake, punch, coffee, tea, mints, cheese straws and finger sandwiches are served. Alcohol is not served or allowed in many churches. My husband and I toasted with beautiful, inexpensive glasses my mom found and ginger ale. We use them on our anniversary, with champagne!
