We've been wanting to make this video FOR SO LONG, and we're so happy to finally get to discuss how we plan a round the world trip or gap year. On this Travel Thursday, we're going to go over our exact process and the tools that we use to plan this round the world (RTW) trip / gap year. We're never sure which one to call it - it's both, technically, we guess?

Hey guys! Love the planner! Quick question: are you guys using it as a planner for both of you on this trip? (Ie. budget for two people traveling?) The getting there costs are clearly individual, but the accommodations you put in seem like for both of you? So would the 28,000 final budget be for one, or both of you? Thanks!

Hi there! The getting there costs are for both of us, as are the accomodation costs. If you're interested in seeing how we save money on our flights, you may want to check out our skillshare course on credit card churning :) skl.sh/3wstHhf The $28,000 budget is for both of us - but our overall plan has changed (as travel plans have been rapidly changing this year), so that may not be the exact end figure, but I think we'll end up pretty close. We just started our trip, we'll let you know how it goes as we go along!

Mate - throw the planner in the garbage and wing it. You will spend three times as much as you think you will and you will discover so many places while on the road that a plan just diverts you away from a real RTW adventure.

Great video! I just secured a remote position and was looking for help on RU-vid because 3 weeks is the longest I’ve traveled so far. I especially love your tip on multiplying what you spent on your longest trip. Makes perfect sense. What program did you use to create the map?

@@LisaAndJosh Honestly, I have recently realized that I may have also contracted spreadsheet glee. I spent almost all of the past few days in a spreadsheet trying to project my next two years of personal and business finances. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it and couldn't stop thinking of other things in life I could turn into a spreadsheet. 🧮 🤓
