An easy number to memorize : 105.4. It's the surface area of Paris in square kilometers. That's why there is "only" two million inhabitants in Paris intra muros, but around twelve million in the Paris region. Arles, with 758 square kilometers, has a way bigger surface area even if it only has 52,000 inhabitants. And Marseille is 2.4 bigger than Paris. 5:25 the transport zones are : 1 for inner Paris, 2,3 and 4 for "proche banlieue parisienne" (high population density zones), and 5 for almost the rest of the whole Île-de-France region.

Hi po! Thank you for this awesome vlog! May I just ask your opinion po: barring any travel restrictions and other covid-19-related issues, which is better to get first, a US Visa or Schengen Visa? I am planning to travel to either NY or Paris when it's okay to travel again or the rules relaxed a bit. I am kind of leaning with the US trip because I believe they would be more open to tourists sooner than European countries. Thank you in advance! More blessings to come!! :)
Yosh and Vince, I am one of your avid vlog followers. ask lang anong airline and sinakyan nio going to Paris, is it KLM, Turkish Arilines or other asian carriers, at magkano fare. Thanks
Yung huling Paris flight namin ay Qatar Air. Sila ang pinakamura naming nakita that time, and usually makakakita ka ng murang Qatar Air flight basta way in advance ka magbook. :)

Wonderful video and very important information shared ❤!! I would be visiting Paris soon. What is my chance of booking a family room for 3 persons ( inluding a child) @ 120€ per night near Eiffel?!!
Hi. You advise walking around Paris in order to see the sights. But what about people with mobility issues? Is there a budget-friendly alternative for them?
Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!
Hi! That depends on the airline/s you booked for both flights. In my case po, when I first visited Paris, I flew with KLM (Manila-Amsterdam) and Air France yata (Amsterdam-Paris). But these 2 airlines belong to the same company and they have an arrangement, so if I remember correctly, I didn't have to pick up my luggage in Amsterdam. I got them when I was already in Paris. It really depends on the airline/s you booked.
Hi, out of topic po mga maam/sir, I watched this video and it enlightens me regarding the basics in Paris, I and my girlfriend are going to Paris this Nov 5 - 10, 2021, in order to properly set an amount for daily expenses, magkano po ang average na pwede e allocate for daily budget in Paris? In terms of Euros po. Salamat kung may sasagot. :)
Hi Serge! Depende kasi sya sa mga attractions na gusto nyo i-visit. Medyo malawak kasi ang range. Pero we have a sample breakdown of expenses here. Pero basics lang yung andito and walang extra gastos: www.thepoortraveler.net/2016/09/paris-budget-travel-guide-expenses-sample-itinerary/
Hi! We stayed at Au Royale Mad sa may Voltaire area. Very basic lang sya and shared bathroom. Mura lang sya noon, nasa P3000++ lang per night pero for some reason, chinecheck ko now, parang ang mahal na niya now. Hanap ka na muna ng iba.
Hi there! I am travelling to Paris next week and I'm a bit confusd on which place to book. I am travelling alone for a week and considering a hostel. Is this okay for a first time traveller to Paris? another concern is, is it practical to stay near the center? like 7th arr 13th 15th arr? is it worht the more expensive accomodations?
Hi John, we love staying at hostels. But it really depends on your travel style and budget. If you have a bigger budget, sure, staying at a centrally located property is convenient. But we've experienced staying in 8th (close to central), 13th (Place de Italie, a bit outside the central area) and 11th. But our key takeaway from our experience was, as long as we were near a Metro station, we'd be okay. The thing is, most key attractions are far apart and spread out, so even at the time we stayed near certain attractions, we still had to take the train to reach other key tourist spots.
@@thepoortraveler thank you! this is really a big help! btw, as I was reading your reply it seems like I can hear your voice 😅. I love you videos and your podcasts as well! Thank you again!
