We are going to the rally as well. We are joining the caravan from OR. But afterwards we will tour the midwest. I like the roadtripper app as you explained. I need to get on those reservations. Thanks!

Randy - you might want to check out Boondockers Welcome or Harvest Hosts. They are both great for overnight stops during your travel adventures.

We have been members of Harvest Host since buying the Airstream and have had a number of wonderful experiences staying at a number of places that offer overnight stays. I recently looked at adding Boondockers Welcome to our Harvest Host membership (Hoverest Host owns both) and was surprised at the additional cost. You can only add Boondockers Welcome by adding the deluxe packages that also includes Gulf Courses too. The cost was an additional $70 on top of what I am paying for Harvest Host. I thought that was a little expensive, as we we only us it a few time per year. Thanks for the suggestion, maybe they will offer a special for it some time in the future.
