My mom always told me to water like that, she said they absorb water through the leaves...only thing is if they are outside they become mosquitoe breeding grounds
Lol, funny you should mention...this would not be allowed in Australia. I microwaved the soil to "sanitize" it....saw how to on a RU-vid video, 3 minutes was apparently not enough because the next morning something had hatched from it (of course it was inside) I'm battling bugs all the time, sugar ants coming in the house looking for water, palmetto bugs all over the carport at night and I have fire ants camped out in my mailbox for some strange reason, it never ends So that potting was actually a disaster
@@topofthepalm Sounds as bad as Australia mate. Creepy crawlers everywhere. We actually have a problem with fire ants atm. Advertising about it all the time. We have rules about flora items here. You can't even take an apple into some states. If you fly into Tasmania, they have sniffer dogs checking for fruit and veg 😎
@@bigkeg9173 I know you have lots of creepy crawlers, especially in qld. Oddly you can transport anything here lol. Coming in from Mexico is another story (I'm sure it's the same going to Canada, never been up there)
@@topofthepalm Tasmania has a big reputation as far as fruit, veg, dairy, wine and meat etc, so nothing gets in to damage it. Tassie also has great trout fishing and someone released carp from the mainland that they were using as bait. They shut down half the lakes and electrically stunned all the fish and removed the carp. Took 4 years and millions of dollars. Very protective lol
