Texas A&M AgriLife Extension specialist Dr. Larry Stein shares all you ever wanted to know about planting and growing bluebonnets! Additional resources are available online at: aggie-horticul...
You say "now is the perfect time to plant" several times. Would you please specify the time of year by month span "that is that perfect time" for those of us who are wanting to try our hand at growing bonnets from ordered seed. Thank you so much.
Since the video was released to RU-vid in September, I would assume that's the time he's referring to. I prefer to sow them by hand in early August; in North Texas, the seedlings normally germinate in the fall.
This year those that mother nature are gonna grow seem.ro.of.come up.early as heck .in September they are already an.inxh or two tall...so it appears all that.water.we got this year it was early aug t is when she did it. Hoping like hell we dont. Get.some weird weather that destroys the crops like it did to all my goldenrod and butter fly weeds...as well as a stand of 200 spider lilies i believe those RECORD ice storms killed soooo much including trees and shrubs that should made it thru...odd note is i had sweet potatoes fingerlings that remained in the ground from last year that didnt ROT and regrew this year..u just never know with mother nature
