Did you loosen the soil from the ground first ?

Can you do some videos on transplanting flowers from the nursery.. or any flower planting for Florida.. please 🙏🙏🙏. There are not many videos at all, if any, I could find.

Starting from seed is pretty easy and much more cost effective. The flowers that I currently plant are from seed.. If I do come across a flower that I just “have to have” from a nursery I will keep your request in mind. 😊

Great video! Does this method also apply to citrus, mango and avocado trees planted in Florida?
@4theloveofgarden
@4theloveofgarden 3 года назад
Thank you so much for sharing and for your question. So far I have not tested the waters with citrus as most are prone to disease in Florida. When it comes to the others, yes!! I have used this method on all of my fruit trees and they are doing great! Please look into planting guilds around the trees as well as supportive species. I am transitioning to Permaculture practice and design.

Do you have videos of how the tree looks now? I wanted to plant a tangerine in the backyard but i did a drainage test and it failed miserably. The whole actually started collecting more water after 30minutes. I thought about building a mound/berm to grow the fruit tree in but I wasn't sure if that was going to work. Will the roots poke out of the mound you created?

Greetings!! I do not currently have any updated videos as of yet.. This peach tree is doing quite well! 🌱 I highly recommend the “High and Tight” method of planting in a mound. I have had no issues with the roots coming out. You can also plant a guild of support species that will benefit a fruit tree in many ways. 😊 Permaculture can be a very helpful tool to research. Hope this helps!

Would these egg shells and banana peels at the bottom of the hole be good for when you plant potted flowers from the nursery into the ground? I just looked up Antimite because I didn’t know what it was and think I’ll add that as well. I have a bunch of plants and flowers that need to be planted so I want to make sure everything stays healthy and alive.

I believe that adding organic matter is always a natural and best practice. Feeding the soil on a regular basis is always a great idea. Also, hardwood mulch is a great addition! 🌱

I gave up on peaches and nectarines in Florida. Too many wood boring insects like those trees.

Hi! Thanks for your video. I have a question. Since you are planting the tree elevated, won’t the soil and mulch that is piled high be washed away in the rain and irrigation, exposing the tree roots? Thanks.
@4theloveofgarden
@4theloveofgarden 2 года назад
Great question! Actually the natural mulch is an element I regularly feed all my fruit trees. It breaks down feeding the soil.. The mulch also acts as a protectant and barrier so the soil does not wash away with the rain. My yard has been built up about 6” with mulch. 👍🏼
@castleofcostamesa8291
@castleofcostamesa8291 2 года назад
@@4theloveofgarden I see, so I need to pay attention that the roots are always covered and not washed off, by adding more mulch as needed. Thank you! 💕
@4theloveofgarden
@4theloveofgarden 2 года назад
Yes and the mulch does so much more than just keep the roots from being exposed. The mulch feeds the soil in return feeds the tree. Natural mulch though- no dyes-chemicals 😊

Question: the bottom native soil is sandy. Will it be harmful to the tree in years as the tree grows big and the roots reach down to the sandy soil?
@4theloveofgarden
@4theloveofgarden 2 года назад
Thank you for your question. The importance of amending the sand into rich soil by adding natural mulch I can’t stress enough. It is transforming the sand to rich organic loam over the years. Also roots do travel downward but the mass of roots travel horizontal creating connections with other trees plants etc hence a tight network of roots all feeding and working with each other. Hope this helps. 🌱👍🏼
