Yes

You can easily modify the code to allow the voice to be triggered via button press or sensor for example, The default code will play the voice when power is connected or when reset is pressed.

When the aux input voltage is too high for the input your stereo system cuts off the edges but not every system might has this protection.

Yeah use a transistor with a higher hfe , perhaps it's easier to use a simple pam8403 amplifier chip.

It works with out the transistor. The transistor was used to just amplify the sound a bit.
