I promise you, the reason I didn’t play it right is because I was too lazy to record enough takes. I wanted to make a video as quickly as possible and shot our best performing short so far. Frusciante is great, of course.
@@sanyavanya yeah but it still shows that you can't just play it right on the spot without trying a few times. the muting is just not that easy with this riff.
I mean it's really not that great of a technique to credit to frusciante. It's a sloppy technique for real. But a technique none the less. And definitely not his best work. The riff itself even without the muted strings is more a testament to his skill then just playing the riff with all his muted strings.
Same. Couldn't stand the weather really forced me to get muting down. A lot harder to accurately mute the strings in it than in pride and joy which was a lot more forgiving.
It's not as easy as it looks, it takes a few hours to master it, I spent a while on it but I must admit that this exercise gave me a lot of skills for my solos, including freatboard control, I recommend it ❤
IMO its way easier to just mute all the strings with your 1st finger and play the notes with the other 3 fingers. If you're struggling with this give it a try, i play it that way and it sounds perfect, think of it like playing a barre chord with a delicate index finger
I do the stupudest thing that i like the most cause it gives me more control. I do the fruscante thumb instead of the full barre and during the second part where he plays open D i play the D on the low E string 10nth fret I am also sorry for the spelling i am FAR from being a native english speaker
For this song, Red Hot Chili Peppers vocalist Anthony Kiedis, wrote the lyrics, to match the music. The words are a rather random collection of thoughts, with some creative rhymes thrown in to match the rhythm of the song. However, if we observe carefully, the song Can't Stop seems to be telling about the vocalist (Anthony Kieds) who can't stop (Can't Stop) from all his bad habits. He is addicted to rah-rah, addicted to parties, addicted to women. -women, addicted to cigarettes and so on.
I tried that.., kept switching my 5way.., John Fruciante plays standing & positions his strum hand close to the bridge so that’s not a thing for him or me anymore..,
There really isnt a specific technique. As long as you mute every string except the one you want to hit youre good. Some people will use different fingerings and different styles to mute, but whatevers comfortable for you
Honestly can’t stop is one of these songs where it’s not about just playing after a tutorial, you have to learn the basic notes and the find a way by yourself to make it sound great. Or you are a genius and play after ear.
That's not very well explained, but we appreciate the intent 😅 see, it's like teaching someone how to play little wing and tell them : just play it like it should! Find a way! 😂😂😂 It's all a joke, lots of love, you are good player. However this songs deserves a little bit more explanation, we need to be explained like to a 3 year old 😂
@@c0unterac342 then why aren’t you smart enough to figure out that Frusciante plays this song on a Tele??? Like almost all of the by the way songs? This song only works on a Tele. If you would have an ear for sound you would have recognized it in a heartbeat….
@@sanyavanya I consider myself a Strat player for 15 years now. But a Tele song is a Tele song… And RHCP is 40% Tele. I don’t know why this is an issue for someone people.
