IT'S TUTORIAL THURSDAY!!!
So before moving forward.. This video is dedicated to MayLyn Passey who suddenly passed away on 10/15/2020. She was a huge fan of the channel and was always supportive of every video that was posted. I speak briefly about her in this video, so if you want to skip that portion, please go to 5:31
In this video I show a very simple variation of Conga de Comparsa that you can try on 1, 2, or 3 congas. I also show how you can add a little more special sauce to that variation by using a simple exercise.
CORRECTION I didn't notice until now that the clave portion didn't line up well. BUT The last 2 hits of the clave come RIGHT AFTER the last hit on the tumba to my dominant side. I Apologize for this error. Can't edit it out, but the count should help guide you in the clave.

Eric, I paused the video on MayLyn's picture, and honestly choked up a little. You reach all of us in special ways, buddy, but it’s amazing how much love can be shown through your videos and conga playing. Wouldn’t it be great if we all could think of a little love every time we play, especially in times like this?

Your work is very important for many of us, music is not just a craft, but also a gateway, a counselor, a friend... going from zero to being someone that knows enough to do some damage with a set of congas is all thanks to you, so we keep you in a special place in our hearts, being a teacher has that perk. Where are the links of comparsa that you mentioned? Thank you for your lessons and how you go well into detail of how to do things along with alternative methods at times.
