HOW TO PLAY CORONER | Town of Salem 2 

Buff idea for Corn: if a necro/retri tries to use a body that’s currently being autopsied, they can’t cause the corn is examining it that night, and the corn will know the name of any retri/necro that tried to use it (but won’t know their role). Corn will also know the autopsied bodies true role/will incase of any manipulation.

I think coroner should be able to determine a dead persons role essentially directly countering enchanter, just making the role a bit more unique, rn it just feels like a worse invest tbh

I did a coroner game yesterday, claimed coroner d1 yet when it came down to the 3v2 my spy buddy didn't believe my investigation and gave the win to coven. It's insanely underwhelming and boring and if they removed it I don't think we'd really lose anything for it.

It would be nice if the Coroner got Psy-like groups of suspects instead of having to eliminate one by one

I think doom sayer should be made a unique role imo.

Coroner absolutely needs a rework, it is by far the worst TI. Not only is it the Slowest TI (you have to wait until d2 at the earliest) and even then you can only find evils that have already successfully killed a target, which makes it a weaker Investigator for the majority of interactions. In my opinion, the Coroner should at least be allowed to see the True Wills of their Autopsy targets, which would counter Medusa, Enchanter, and Serial Killer will manipulation and partially fill the Medium shaped whole in the ToS2.

Day 2 autopsy could have been used to verify the Crusader claim, except in the event of Crusaders chaining together (which seems unlikely?) Of course, had town been intelligent, they would have claimed Town Protection and you'd have to _guess_ which TP was the Crusader, but it could have still been used as such.

Doomsayer I feel like is being massively underrated. Surprised to see too many people not playing around it, it should be given just as much respect as jester.

One change I'd like to see in the graveyard that was in ToS 1, it shows the day or night, someone died at a glance.

Only time Coroner feels useful is when somebody is killed by multiple people so that you can actually have a chance of finding the evils

This double doom game just reminds me of one I was in, where I was a witch in a 4 coven, rit, witch, hex and one more, team. Then, on n1, 3 of the 4 coven just die to the doomsayer. Both the doomsayer and the living coven said 15, who was the berserker, was the one who told the doom who the coven members were. Like, instead of denying it, they make it painfully obvious they were teaming. The living coven even said, (paraphrasing): "We are in a call and it was 15 that said who the coven members were". And even if that was true, which I doubt, the last coven would have had to say who the members were, first. I was just pissed off that game.

The "Wait, why am I on trial" people who somehow not know what VFR is but somehow also know to post their will as a response to it makes it seem like a play and not a legitimate response for someone who is new, though obviously there are exceptions (as this vid proved).

This role feels insanely weird too me, cause in a game where Wildling exists that gets a free pass on see ANY town visits AND where they go to, this role has to wait for a death, on day do an action and then can only check ONE person per night for that specific person without getting any extra info. This role really needs to be reworked or buffed, but i couldnt think of buffs that make it more fun. it just needs to be a role that isnt just there to be fake claimed as

Doomsayer needs be unique as a BARE MINIMUM. They punish town more than anything. If that’s not enough, they need to guess two different factions (Cov, Town, NE, Apoc etc) to fully Doom

Hot take: Coroner should be able to see what role killed the person you autopsy in addition to the existing abilities. It's not very useful against NKs, since they tell you outright, but since Coven kills hide the role of the killer (just saying "they were killed by a member of the Coven" instead) Coroner would be able to help figure out what Coven role has the Necronomicon. Plus, that's part of what autopsies do IRL anyways, figure out what killed the person. Ex. "You successfully performed an autopsy on your target and discovered they were killed by a Voodoo Master! You now have clues to help you identify the killer." Coroner's gameplay would then proceed as normal, but they can now tell the town that Voodoo Master has the book.

What about a town role called Attorney which would work the opposite of the prosecutor. During the day they can choose to defend a player which prevents that player from being voted up to the stand. It would protect from prosecutor but deputy and conjurer would still be able to kill, and they would get two uses like pros.

I had an idea for a possible coroner rework, given that it feels underwhelming: when performing an autopsy, you discover "traces" of ALL players that had visited that corpse up until their death. The night phase would still be determining if someone is the killer. This would allow coroner to have a more educated guess at finding killers, but could also serve to confirm/deny claims (finding traces of someone who said they never visited, or not finding traces of someone who said they did). I don't think it would be overpowered, but that's hard to determine without playing. At least coroner would feel useful?

Where as I used to love guest star Adalgia, I actively root against Mimyuu every game. Mimyuu is also the Giles Cory of this game as they are often the enemy I've noticed.

Kinda wish they worked like a hybrid between a soul collector like they'd visit someone and if they died they would know who killed them and if they the attacker was illusioned they would not show up as if it were an astral visit so there would atleast be some counter play but this may be overpowered against Neutral Killings

Might be smart if someone is asking to chain, nobody whispers, and you haven't claimed yet then maybe whisper them. Tell them you're not the other TP but you want evils to think you and the person could be chaining.

If you autopsy someone who was killed by coven but the killing coven dies do you have to re autopsy someone or does it transfer your target with the necronomicon

4H player here - Coroner and Invest are completely useless when bers dies, and it often happens that bers dies before they get to actually do anything, meaning you just have 2-5 people sitting there doing nothing that are very hard to confirm.

Coroner needs some kind of rework. Maybe make it so that the coroner instead performs autopsies at night and can get specifics on how a player died (Specific coven killer) or three names in which one is the killer like the psychic? Maybe both. Both is good.

So this is a game I just had and it was absolutely hilarious. There’s 5 people left. I’m a jinx with a poisoner and there’s a cleric a retri and an unknown person. Me and poisoner attack the unknown person thinking we win cuz it will be a 2v2 after he dies, but it turns out he has def. We demand his role and he says he is exe and his target is currently me. I’ve been outed as coven at this point and they all decide to hang me (the exes target) and leave it up to rng who wins the game. Except every time they try to guilty me everyone except the exe innos because they don’t want to get tormented. We all found it highly amusing and the day ended with everyone still alive. We said “lol gg we just kill the cleric and I jinx the ret.” Well turns out the cleric and the exe were actually arsonists and the ret was soul collector. The arsonists ignited everyone including each other and the game ended in a draw. The funniest part was everyone was innoing me a confirmed coven because they didn’t wanna be exe tormented when there wasn’t even an exe 😂😂

Is there a way to show the role description and what action you can take on screen? I remember something like this being avaliable in ToS. I am just saying this because I often watch you to learn a role and find myself confused about comments you make (about the role) since I don't have a reliable description of the role. Buff 2: Autopsies Also Trace Non-Lethal Effects Such As Roleblocks, Jails And Douses, Allowing Coroners To Find A Larger Variety Of Roles

i've watched many hours of ToS2, and i've yet to see a single instance of a coroner being useful. also feeling like doomsayer should be unique..

Who thought making the role coroner was a good idea? You can only find who the killer was, and by time you autopsy the body and examine it the book holder for the coven dies. Role is completely useless. Even worse than spy. Spy and coroner needs a rework. Maybe making coroner like psychic could be an idea. Like autopsy the body and at night you get 3 numbers and one of them is the killer of the person you picked(and if the person died in different ways you can just pick for which one of the killers you are going for). Still worse than psychic, but easier to confirm, no "good visions on full moon nights", doesn't waste time lynching jesters and exes in evil visions and you can decide which evil you are going after. However the role will never be able to spot hidden sks and arsos and stuff. I would still prefer psychic, but it would have a point. And for the spy, just let it read whispers or bring back the ability to see coven visits basically. Even reading the coven chat would be thing. Just rework those two. Also giving deputy 1 more bullet would be cool. After it has revealed itself, it is kinda useless. Still the most powerful town role along with pros probably.

That was a pretty bad explanation of how coroner works in the begging, you missed the crucial aspect of how the coroner checks a specific player to see if they were the one who performed the kill.
