These are the rules for playing croquet in your backyard. Including bonus hits and roquet options.

Start in between the first stake and the first wicket
Scoring a wicket gives a bonus shot
Scoring a stake gives a bonus shot
Hitting another ball gives 2 bonus shots
Make your way around the court scoring the wickets in the correct order
The first player (or team) to score all wickets and stakes with their ball (or balls), wins the game

Oh yea we had a tough time getting a hang of the rules at first. After a few games it gets easier.

A few questions. In two player mode when playing with two balls each. Can you roquet off your own balls? In two player two balls each do you start at opposite sides? I'm confused with bonus shots and going through the wickets, let me explain. I roquet, then go through the wiket on the next shot. Using one of my two bonus ' roquet' shots. So I get an extra for the wiket but do I still keep the other bonus shot or is it voided by going through the wiket? In short would I have one or two shots. And I want to confirm. Maximum bonus shots at a time is 2? Last question. I'm need to hit the stake when I'm halfway through someone knocks my ball into the stake. Does that count same as when someone pushes me through the wiket? I know I don't get bonus shots but understand I'd be able to continue to the next wiket is it the same for the stake? In the middle or end?

Ahh yes, playing doubles adds a bit of complexity. 1. You CAN roquet off your own ball, if you're strategic, you can move yourself down the court that way. 2. You do not start at opposite sides, you alternate starting from the same side. In your example, one player would have blue and black balls, and the other player would have red and yellow balls. The order of play would be blue, red, black, then yellow. 3. Yes, your bonus shots would stack up. You have 2 from a roquet, use one to make a wicket, wicket gives you one, you still have 2. 4. Yes, officially the max bonus shots at a time is 2, but we usually don't enforce this rule. A lot of people feel that if they make both wickets and the stake in one shot, they deserve all 3 bonus shots. 5. Yes, if someone pushes your ball into the stake, you can count the stake and continue. In the middle and the end. In those cases you would try to jump your opponents ball to avoid helping them out. Wow, you've made me realize I wasn't as thorough as I thought in explaining the rules of the game. I'm working on improving all the time, thanks for these questions!

I watched this to refresh my memory from high school gym class - I vaguely recalled that multiple people could finish the course. As they finished, they were allowed to play the course in reverse & try to knock everyone out. I feel like the word poison was used?

Awesome tutorial and crystal clear explanation both in video and the page. I wish you include a print out for the 6 wicket direction of play. Yeah and the link to the 16 pages document of the association seems dead. Thanks again for the print outs and making the rules and the game easy and fun.
